1 Steve, this "stuff" can only be = counting the rupees you have pocketed recently placing puts and calls as per crossover system! Nice to see you have made so much that you are prepared to leave 10% on the table for croupier and other players!!!!!
2 irrational exuberance? Isnt irrational implied in exuberance?

ema3 is still above ema15. Better to wait till second half of Monday before initiating trade on short side.

Since i have never seen any one posting this method of trading ... I thought i'll start...
Basically during the course i will post on this forum when there is a crossover. The best way to make use of this is to buy calls/puts.
Although this method has almost a flawless profit making strike rate, the only problem with the method is that you get to take only a few trades. But the risk reward is quite appealing.
This way we can trade on the index when ever there is a cross over.
I will post on this forum when the crossover is just about to happen.
I know this forum will be dormant most of the time. But this method is for patient traders. Cheers !!

The thread was started by Steve Mat with the above post
Fellow ICians, what doubts can we have about such a simple and elegant method posted by Steve Mat? Here is what I understand from Steve's posts in the thread. Remember he has had a very good success rate following this strategy
1 Enter when Index ema 3 , ema 15 crossover on closing basis actually happens (or, as Steve wrote above, when you consider it likely to happen at EOD, so you enter around 1525 the same day)
2 Buy put or call
3 Exit partly when you reach certain profit targets, you choose, along the way
4 Keep 5-10% of the original qty for the last sprint to next crossover
5 Wait patiently for next crossover on closing basis
Cheers, Prakash Holla

Hi,

This is a very effective stratagy. keep monitoring the charts and if the crossover is COMPLETE around 3:15 - 3:25 take the trade. what usually happens is that around that time volatility is low. if the trade is taken the next day usually the call or puts are already bloated (in case of gaps).

traded it recently with DLF in cash. Awesome Mausam Results Very Happy

Regards,

Long is on. One more thought.. Ofcourse you may do Options (buy/sell calls/puts depending on move) it might make more sense to do futures with this stratagy. If Steven could also respond...

I think originally this method was meant for futures, with contra short/long for 3 ema pull back.

Maybe someone can correct me on this..

Regards,
