bearish crossover happened yesterday and i expected markets to open green today..so i've bought 8500 PEs throughout the day with avg price now at around 84... good luck everyone

Caution: Very high risk..considering the trend reverses at 8772 as per our strategy (ie bullish crossover)

cheers

yes risky. in fact you should hedge with 9000ce expecting wild moves from tmrw

Surprised with the action. It was the first day of crossover so one should have waited for a day more for confirmation, I believe, specially because of the events around the time its crossing over - expiry, budgets etc.

Second, more technically, todays open itself was close to (in fact, above) yesterday's E3 (8729.04 vs open of 8729.50 today). Thereafter the Nifty has crossed E15 as well and gone up. So, it should be SL for sell action?

I have taken long positions when it crossed over E15, expecting the crossover will turn out to be false. And am booking small profits.

Dear Ajit,

Can you please elaborate on the following:
1. "Surprised with the action"?
What surprised you?
2. "one should have waited for a day more for confirmation" ?
Waiting for which confirmation exactly? the farther the 3ema is as against the 15ema ..the more sure that it has crossed over?

just to give you a heads up...that this forum topic is used only when we work on the above specified strategy.. not when we think our strategy is wrong..

cheers and good luck !

Steve: Very well said! Lets keep it simple, powerful, (and profitable!)

The proof is available in the excellent results (and returns) you have consistently achieved using this strategy. Cheers, Prakash Holla

this week is volatile.. staying away from market this week was a wise move.. too much reverses because of budget expectations .. coming saturday must belong day traders.. carry further only if sufficient profit on saturday..

Dear Raynor

How is buying PEs when market opens in green contradictory? i have no idea on what you're asking...but if the question is why do i think that markets will come down when it opens in green..its bcoz the system said so..thats all..
Besides you can go back and check earlier posts wherein we have done the same and made profits..

Steve: If I also may ans this?
Eco Times has reported that FIIs have taken positions to benefit from fall of NF, if budget is even slightly below expectations.
Often they along with big operators take the market up to trap bears, then take the market plunging, to trap bulls who have rushed in at the opening bell. Double dhamaka! Prakash Holla

i wouldnt buy puts...just like vinay pointed out..the markets dont have a direction these days...most options just end up depleting value irrespective .. with vix also coming down...buying options looks not rewarding at all..

we shall wait for the market to get out of this "boring" phase

Nifty is having a 3 15 ema crossover on a weekly tf after a super long period..

i've bought small quantity of 8200 PE at 60..

PS: last time there was a bearish cross over on weekly tf, we lost money...lets hope this time we dont

cheers
