right prakash, mere comments don't help but probably confuse others. I would welcome constructive comments giving logic and explanation for the same. Otherwise, this thread will go Sam's threads's way!

Pls note: Those who do not like the system please don't use it.. I found this system helpful and hence i am sharing .. not like i gain something if some trades using this system...

I have back tested this system for the past couple of years..So if there is any questions pls ask me.. and i will try to answer to the best of my knowledge..

Once again making the system clear... Positions are taken when 3 EMA EOD crosses the 15 EMA EOD.. CHarly are plotted on daily time frame on NIFTY SPOT values.. You will generally achieve targets of 30% in two days ..If it doesnt..then exit..

System to be only used for NIFTY

As always open to constructive criticism

Dear All,

Sharing Nifty chart with ema crossover (my settings are ema 5 / ema 20) along with ADX. Seems to providing decent results. (One can use PARSAR to generate exit signal, not shown here to have uncluttered view.)

These are two un-correlated indicators and hence, thought of using them together for generating trade signals.

Trading instrument can be chosen based on comfort: Nifty Future, Nifty Call / Put (One with investment / safety mind set can also use Nifty ETF, Nifty MF Index Fund.)

For example, one could have watched today and at around 3 pm, decided to go long in any of the instrument.

Steve- i hope you will welcome questions which will help understand better 'Trading 3-15 EMA's With Options'

Congrats for your CE success. Can you tell-

1. In your Long PE trade, what was your entry and what was your exit ? How you decided to exit losing PE trade or decided Stop ?

2. We can not expect such rapid moves on all 3-15 cross overs. And at such tiimes option premium's time value takes a toll.
What precautions to be taken ? Any specific period when we should avoid options instrument to trade, even though 3-15 cross is there.

3. Any special option strategy ...if any that you are using

Hi @Stevenmat,

Regarding the options used..do you recommend using ATM or ITM or OTM?

My experience says that even though ITM will have a very high delta, it is the OTM options that gain most in value (% wise) .

Please advice / share your option moneyness choice.

I buy mostly just ITM options because my brokerage structure makes ITM most feasible.. Other wise since this is a swing method it is best to use OTM options if we are in the first two weeks of the trading month...else its better to use just ITM options during the latter half of the month.. just to avoid heart attacks

I don't think this works well with stocks..but if you're buying stocks in a long term perspective..why don;t you use 5 20 EMA plot...It works well (if you have the patience)

yes yes..i love questions..i trade only in options with 3 15 btw..
1. My entry was at 5720..which is close on march1st..at about 118.. On monday..we saw a high of about 152..But my target was 159 (unfortunately).. I decided to stop and exit as nifty turned bullish on daily candle..and hence we stopped and entered into buying calls..
NOte: my positions are always without any hedge..

2. You're right we can not...but we do not average out if nifty stays still with our open position..We might even get lucky with the VIX increase in premium..But its really up to the person.. You can hold on to the positions for more than 2 days..or you can stop and exit in two days..For eg..last month we went short at 6000..and we booked profit at 5960...even though nifty slipped to below 5700 that series..

3. No.. No special strategy..It is simple ..yet effective !!
