Hi Giridharan

Even though you are seeing 3 by 5 EMA is profitable. The period is very short.
If you compare the same system for year 2013 plain crossing of ema 3 by 5 ema. this will give you loss.

But in long term in 10 years 13 years term. This is very profitable system.
I have tested same from year 2000.

Hi Galrani sir & others,

Can you please suggest how to handle splits & bonus while testing historical data for certain stock futures?
Taking the historical futures price as is, causes a long drop or rise at the point of ex-date which skews the EMAs.

Any ideas / thoughts to handle this?

Thanks.

Reversal point is 12990.10

Now in sell mode will check at 3.15 if price is above 12991 will go long otherwise short trade will be carry forward for next day.

long trade taken with s l of 12998.45 which is reversal point to go short. If you are long one lot then s l at this price should be with two lots. If s l is taken then review at 3.15 if prices are below our s l then carry the short position and if prices are above it will be called whip saw then square up short position and go long.

for nifty fut rev.point is 6771.15 it is s l for short trade. if this price is crossed go long.

crossing the reversal point is enogh. no need to wait for closing.

Then

- At 3.15 p.m. please take a review of N F price, where it is tradeng ? Below or above 6756 ? if it is above rev. point then hold the long position. if it is below rev . point then liquidate long and go short.

Then on monday morning take a look if price is above rev .point then go long otherwise hold short position.

Dear Friend we have only one tool that is reversal point which we use as a stop loss, as to liquidate current position and to trade opposite. Simple just like that. Don't mind initial loss happens due to whips, it will be managed once trend is started in our favour.

For Bank Nifty long trade

Reversal point was 12998.45 (as per wednesday close).
Low made on thursday was 13022.45. (just placed s l which was not taken)
Reversal point was (12987.14) (as per thursday close)
Low made on friday 13077.25 (just placed s l which was not taken)
High made on Friday was 13905

So journey of this long trade 13022.45 ----- 13905

Current Reversal point is 12883.19 (as per friday close)

3 Ema touch rule will be in action if market corrects which is 13451.07

Before this trade(wednesday, thursday ,friday) :

I booked total loss of 160 points on monday and tuesday as mechanically following this system. But once we get trend in our favour these whipsaw losses no more headache.

For nifty future

From last week wednesday it was in sale. This week thursay reversal point was 6756.75 which was broken on friday so our short position squared off and at the same time we went long , high made on friday is 6898.

For this long trade ... reversal point is 6704.9 after 3 days if prices are constant above reversal point, 3 ema touch rule will be in action. Let us see what happens next.

Regards.
