Reversal formula is:

Reversal value = [E2(n2-n1+(n1*n2)-1)-E1(n1-n2+(n1*n2)-1)] / 2(n2-n1)
Where,
n1 & n2 are time periods for which EMA is calculated and n2>n1
E1 is EMA value corresponding to period n1
E2 is EMA value corresponding to period n2

Post by Shiva had following parameters:

n1 = 3, n2 = 5, E1 = EMA 3, E2 = EMA 5

Changes Done in my excel:

n1 = 3, n2 = 13, E1 = EMA 5, E2 = EMA 8

Hope this makes clear Very Happy

Rachit,
You have chosen 3 & 13 because they are sum and difference of two time periods chosen by you or any other reason?

HI Mr. ShahRachit,

In your modified excel, for nifty on 13th july 2005, entry point is zero and exit is at 2195. which is not possible at all.

if you remove this 2195 points from the calculation of profit for year 2005,
your profit will be lesser by 1,10,000.00 for the year 2005, and hence the total profit till date also will be that much lesser. so it will be 3,28,000.00 instead of 4,38,000.00.

i may be wrong but please verify it again.

thanks in advance,

balaraj

There was no logic behind selecting 3 & 13.... I just did some trial and errors and found max. gain by this numbers... you can also do trial and error by making change in cells...

Hi all
Glad to see the performance on Nifty/Bank Nifty.
Has some one tested on stocks as experienced stocks give better return than indices in positionals,
Cheers
