Low volumes just enough to keep the index bobbing like a ping pong ball around the waterline. In preparation for the coming earnings season ? So which sector is gonna be HOT? Clues are already in and some positions are being built in the hot sectors and the laggards are being distributed. Or is it the QE3 ? Hold your horses....but don't let this lull you into slumber ( try coffee)........ and keeps those stops tight.

Market rally started with sizeable positions being built. 5555 must hold for us to see 5600. Then 5750 zone will decide if we get to 5944. Whats that marathi song ? .... paani dhim dhim... (somebody fill in pls) ... hey Is it the good monsoon already?

FIIs are constantly selling while the DIIs are trying to prevent an outright crash.

Today all the experts/advisors were bearish on rediff.com .... so market turn is round the corner?

However We dont predict , we react. Waiting on the sidelines is also a position.

NASA scientists conducted a series of tests over many years, including air tunnel testing, on the bumblebee and finally concluded that the bumblebee can not fly because the ratio of its weight to its wingspan is too high.

But the bumblebee does not know it and so it continues to fly.

That's perhaps the only reason why India will fare better than the rest of the world.

Oops, sorry Ajay. I hijacked your thread.

What’s happening between the United States and China?

"....President Obama has basically told China’s President Hu that he’s had it with their exchange rate policy and that the value of the YUAN, come hell or high water, MUST go UP and the value of the DOLLAR, in contrast, MUST go DOWN.

A dollar devaluation via the yuan is now clearly reaching critical mass. A dollar devaluation against the Chinese currency will set off all kinds of fireworks in the markets as Washington kicks off its next effort to inflate away its debt problems.( QE)

Second, President Obama just announced a major U.S. military buildup in the Asia-Pacific region to “project power and deter threats to peace.” He committed the United States yesterday to sending military aircraft and 2,500 military personnel to Darwin, Australia, marking our first military presence in the region since World War II.

Naturally, Beijing is not too happy about it, to say the least. Meanwhile though, China is continuing to exert its supremacy by moving full steam ahead to make its currency a world-class medium of exchange. In addition to building its gold reserves,

Beijing is expanding trade with the yuan throughout Asia and just last week concluded a major yuan-based trading agreement with the Russians.

Plus, yuan denominated bonds are now being issued in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Beijing is also going to take a large position in Europe to help it with its currency and debt crisis, giving China a large stake and say in European affairs.

I repeat my warnings of late: While almost everyone’s eyes are on Europe’s crisis (and the Super Committee budget debates in Washington) — the biggest threat of all is being ignored: The rise of the yuan and inevitable fall of the dollar...."(Larry Edelson)

Our own Mr Singh was in a jadoo ki jhappi with Mr O. Leveling the playing field , eh? (see previous blog).
Who wants to continue as the Prime Minister ?

Our own Nifty did exactly 700 points from 4700( as blogged earlier) when the distribution started and the usual DUMP after the initial PUMP.

The current sell off can drive it down to 4748 at worst (anything lower is a black hole) .
One more round of PUMP comin' up , do u think , before heading off for the holidays?
Target 5555, shall we?

And there's more to knock you into the corner this weekend:

"...Commodities game :Most investors have no idea how the commodities game really works. It's all about who you know... and who you pay off.

Chances are, you've never heard of a company named Vitol....it just got a lock on the Libyan oil market. How do you invest in this company? You can't... it's owned by just 330 share-holding employees. They are very rich.

How about Cargill? Surely you've heard of this agricultural giant. It's over 145 years old, has annual sales worth more than $108 billion and is one of the world's largest companies.

But you can't get in on the action... not unless you marry into the family.

And then there is Trafigura. Despite allegations it killed 16 people and sickened hundreds more through massive illegal dumping, the 18-year-old firm managed to grow into the third-largest independent oil trader and second-largest industrial metals trader in the world.

If the world's big commodities traders went public, the secretive, coercive industry would no longer be controlled by a few ultrapowerful men. The realm of obscene profits and massive market manipulation would vanish like a cockroach in a bright room.

Take, for example, Koch Industries -- the nation's second-largest private company (next to Cargill, of course). Koch has a stake in everything from oil refining to dry bulk transport to commodities trading.

If you eat or drive... you've put cash into the deep pockets of the Koch brothers.( the wall street protesters had gheraoed Koch residence , it seems)

Their most important investment is not in a refinery or a fleet of ships. It's Uncle Sam. Koch Industries has made more than $6 million in political donations since 1989, with more than $2.24 million in the last election cycle.

The payouts help explain why these commodity behemoths remain privately owned cash machines.

Despite the fact the top five commodity trading firms control over half the sector's revenue ($629 billion) and never mind the idea they take dangerously large speculative stakes and hoard commodities to sway the market in their favor... Washington takes a hands-off approach.

Under the new, "tighter" rules for Wall Street, commodity trading firms have gone virtually untouched. And as long as they keep funneling money inside the Beltway and keep their business out of the public eye, it will stay that way.

It's a relationship with great mutual benefits.

The legicritters get the cash they need to stay in office and the men pulling the strings of the commodities markets get richer and richer.

Get this... since 1960, the S&P 500 grew 82-fold, with dividends. During the same half-century, the Koch brothers claim the value of their firm grew more than 2,800-fold.

Two and a half minutes ago, you had no idea two of the nation's most politically connected and largest private firms are the companies that put food on your table and fuel in your tank... now you do.

... and now you know why food and gas prices are rising faster than anything else...." (Andrew Snyder)

And there is Gold and Silver price manipulation :
This close correlation among gold, interest rates, and government bond values is why central banks long have tried to control -- usually suppress -- the price of gold. For gold is the ticket out of the central banking system, the escape from coercive central bank and government power. As an independent currency, a currency to which investors can resort when they are dissatisfied with government currencies, gold carries the enormous power to discipline governments, to call them to account for their inflation of the money supply and to warn the world against it. Because gold is the vehicle of escape from the central banking system, the manipulation of the gold market is the manipulation that makes possible all other market manipulation by government.

The gold market manipulation operates through the largely surreptitious mobilization of Western central bank gold reserves and the gold nominally held by the major exchange-traded funds. If the manipulation was done completely in the open, as governments used to manipulate the gold market, through the gold standard and then through what was called the London Gold Pool, the Western central bank gold dishoarding scheme of the 1960s, the manipulation would fail, because then the world would understand that there is not a free market in gold -- or in any currency, any more than there is a free market in government bonds.
