A real bull market lasts months and offers several opportunities. So if it shows up( a breakout traders edge) you will not have trouble finding setups and make big money if you have thought through your setups
Most of the investors try to catch a bottom (in individual scrips and in the Index too).In this attempt they often get trapped for a long time .The above formulation should help them to take a wise decision ....Not to try to catch a bottom.... Try to catch an uptrend. |

RK, Vinay, psalm and others ....
what say we start a thread on 'Market Reading' or Market Palmistry( ) and solicit contributions from all ichartians for various market signs* such as I listed earlier)and how to read them ?
This can range from the simplest eg rising moving averages is a trending market , Open Interest etc etc,??? |

good idea but (a) I think you should name it market palm-charts and (b) I wonder how much I can contribute considering what you are expecting |

Vinay ... trading is a journey and as we go along we learn. Plus contributions from others will trigger your observations and you will also spot co-relations. Also since you do read a lot , you may find some interesting insights that you can bring to the table? |

Ajay, I can add holistic view as it appears to me but note that holistic views are often treated as baseless. Nothing like having a last laugh though! |

Vinay, Your Take on the matter is important whether it is accepted by others or not. By the way, even silly logic can lead to solutions. So, nothing is very important or nothing is silly. Check the following link....its an interesting story....

As psalm says we will take all the views and let the readers make their own judgements/refute/rebut/modify/tweak etc. |

oh, I know this old story psalm. thanks anyway. what I meant was that, and as ajay has also pointed out earlier, we generally don't (want to) look at seemingly unrelated/uninteresting things, discarding them as useless. often a clue to the solution (if not the solution itself) is found elsewhere. Do you know that some of the nobel prizes have been due to serendipity?
So unless one is either trained or has an inherent gentic code to keep all senses ever alert, one can't learn much. Add to that the habit to always ask and find out why and you have an execellent weapon. One will then naturally learn to put 2 and 2, 3 and 3..... together, connecting issues from totally different fields e.g. the trait of the processionist grasshopper and a common human social attitude! (ajay?)
as scott fitzgerald once said - sign of a true genius is the ability to harbour two contradictory thoughts simultaneoulsy in the mind. a real devil's advocate if you may! |

Relax Vinay .... the title reflects the journey we will undertake on our way to becoming better traders and able to read the mind of the markets and use the skill to trade our edge. |
