Agent Vinay ?
Why not solar and wind energy ? Because the technology is available in India ? Solar panel costs have crashed. |

No Ajay, they can hardly contribute a few % to total energy consumption. They also have many limitations, which can never be overcome. "Green" is the most widely raped word these days and least understood.
There are two possible options (a) hydrogen storage and (b) plasma recovery. Both technologies are with Russia and are far from commercial use, although they do have one tonne models of the latter in operation including, I think, in Jerusalem. We will need 8000 (or more) tonne plants in each mega city and lesser ones for other cities and towns.
In the immediate future, saving and conservation is the only answer. Do you know that merely switching off main switch of TV, PC, AC and other gadgets saves 7%? Add to that (a) switching off lights and other devices when not use (being talked about for long but hardly implemented) and (b) keeping higher temp setting of AC. Have you ever tried sleeping in 26 deg. C instead of 24 as often suggested? You barely need 20 deg F difference between outside and inside temp for comfort.
Ours is the oldest surviving civilisation only because of reuse, repair, recycle, conservation and savings. Consumption based economy will bring guaranteed doom. And we boast about our population as our strength. In fact, it is single most cause of all our problems. |

No Vinay
We can't install a Nuclear bomb in each city and expect to get away with it.
Highly efficient Japanese almost gone near to total contamination. Still suffering.
What will happen to nuclear plants in India with highly inefficient systems?
After recent Japanese episode there should not be any second thought in shedding Nuclear energy.
We can't seek development at the cost of extinction. |

Well said Vinay .... but playing into the hands of foreigners will cost us our freedom ultimately.
We are not organised enough to handle nuclear power. See what happened to Japan. The whole country is exposed as if earthquakes and tsunamis were not enough.
France is mostly nuclear. Why does US not use nuclear power themselves ?
Yes our civilization is based on reuse etc ... so why not bio mass etc? ie safer alternatives ? Currently return on energy costs is negative and thats when alternate sources will come into play ie solar/wind/bio etc
Energy wastage is a horrible truth and it is because we are not disciplined at all. Human nature I guess ... when catastrophe strikes we will fall in line? |

Ajayji, Why China has banned Commodity Trading?
Why GOI has not been able to buy dollars for 3 days a row?
Why the amount of Gold ETF in Paper Mismatches with GOLD BAR.
What will be the Nifty Value , will it be circuit to circuit or No Trading.
Why everyone in USA is buying IT stocks at random.
Why USA is supplying all the Dollars to EU zone.
Why there is rumors in Wall Street of Energy Bubble like IT Bubble.
Why China is so tilted towards Iran & even interested to go for War with USA.
Are we preparing for Doomsday or Armageddon.

RK, first of all plasma recovery is NOT nuclear power. It is for solid waste conversion to power, water, expensive metals, etc.
Secondly, we can't take decisions based on Japanese experience. We are not so exposed to earthquakes. Nuclear plants are safer than any other. Indian designs are better than those used in US and Europe because we use heavy water, not boiling water or sodium.
As of today, we don't have any other alternative to satisfy our enormous power needs, necessary for us to grow economicaly like developed countries, particularly when oil is finished. Believe me, "they" will never make public announcement when it is over. Fusion is much safer because it does not have nuclear waste. It is also the "ultimate" solution but too far away for commercial success to be confortable.
Otherwise, we should be prepared to go back to stone age.
I know what I am talking having been in this field for decades. |

Not yet, codered. Uses hydrogen or methanol. Too much space per unit power. Also, very very expensive. Needs hydrogen fueling stations. But, it has very good efficiency and is ecofriendly. Small units posible, which can be used for transport and as distributed generation for small buildings/blocks. |

Codered .. to answer some of your questions:
China has banned commodity trading only at unauthorised exchanges..it seems there are many in China. They want to regulate these.
US is supporting because there is US money invested already in Europe that will also be under the contagion risk ..domino effect
Energy cost being high , is not being recovered from the productivity ie where ever it is being utilised ! So energy prices have to drop to be profitable
China has teamed up with Russia , and Russia is backing Iran. Technology to Iran esp nuclear is supplied by Russia. See my last blog about Russi chini bhai bhai.
If you see the you tube link of banking system in my blog , the banks are a Ponzi scheme . US wants to hold its supremacy and will fight tooth and nail.
Its a matter of semantics now - doomsday or armageddon
Technology is the way to reducing manpower costs and unemployment is getting higher in US and Europe and now China. Businesses will go for technology and automate their business models.
I believe when and if money gets printed for US and Europe bail outs , the money is going to come to our market also and will cause it to rise .Finally this cannot solve the problem so the bear market rally will cease.
As I keep saying the bear market rally has to end in euphoria and not in pessimism (as it is today).
Beware of Gold ETFs ... it was found that some ETFs did not have any gold backing( will provide the link later)
Weak rupee is good for exports so they will not intervene too much. Maybe they expect the QE3 to start the buying of rupee and automatically make it stronger... I think it is wait and watch policy by GOI. |

Jim Rogers says: reading economic data, especially that coming from most of the developed world, may be a waste of time altogether.
That is because Rogers claims that most of them are 'lies'. Rogers' claims about the US government faking inflation and unemployment data come as a shocker.
Meanwhile, Rogers also suspects that the US' debt problems are far more disturbing than that of the Eurozone. Hence the sugar coated economic data may help in keeping markets buoyant for a temporary period. But eventually the numbers will show their true colour.
In the meantime, Jim is long commodities and currencies and short emerging market stocks, U.S. technology stocks, and European stocks.
His logic? He wins if the economy turns up due to commodity scarcity...
And if the economy remains weak, Rogers' short positions will more than offset his long positions.
So , as someone put it aptly , the ultimate lie detector is ........? see attached and techies(TA) may want to share their analysis about which way this may go |
