Hi All,

I will be posting the names of the scrips whose Bollinger Band widths reached their minimum in the last six months. We all know that prices alternate between periods of low volatility, followed by periods of high volatility, ... and so on - much like the calm before the storm and the inevitable inactivity afterward.

Though a 20-period Bollinger Band is more commonly used, I will be giving scrips both for 10-period and 20-period bands. After the squeeze, the price is more likely to move considerably in a relatively short time . But to find the direction in which the price moves after the squeeze is the challenging task. Any clues to guess the direction of move are welcome.

EXIDEIND had the minimum width on 15th and 18th. It broke out today. I have attached a few screenshots.

10-period Bollinger Band: GLENMARK, RELIANCE
20-period Bollinger Band: BEL, IDEA, MRPL & RELIANCE

Those who trade in futures for short-term gains may find this information useful.

This is not a recommendation to buy or sell any stock. Do your own study before making any investment decision.

Regards,
falcon.

With a Bollinger Band squeeze yesterday, the pennant formation hints that in all probability, IDEA may resume its rise.

falcon

10-period Bollinger Band squeeze: IBULHSGFIN, RELIANCE
20-period Bollinger Band squeeze: BEL, BHARATFIN, IDEA, INDUSINDBK, MRPL & STAR

STAR has a bullish Wolf Wave formation on the daily chart which you can see on the "Running With The Wolves" thread.

A lot of scrips are under Bollinger Band squeeze right now. It seems market is poised for a new high in the coming few days. Unusually high number of bank scrips indicate BANKNIFTY is also likely to go up.

10-period Bollinger Band: ADANIPORTS, BHARATFIN, CNXENERGY, CNXFIN, GODFRYPHLP, GODREJIND, IBULHSGFIN, ITC, YESBANK

20-period Bollinger Band: AUROPHARMA, BEL, BHARATFIN, CHOLAFIN, DHFL, FEDERALBNK, GODFRYPHLP, GRASIM, IBULHSGFIN, KOTAKBANK, KTKBANK, ORIENTBANK, POWERGRID, RBLBANK, RELIANCE, SOUTHBANK, SREINFRA

IBULHSGFIN is a breakout with 3% rise today.
RELIANCE has been subdued for a long time and could breakout any time.
CHOLAFIN is in a flag pattern and could resume its rise any time.

I just want to know if this thread is felt useful by anyone in any way. Views and opinions are welcome.

Regards,
falcon.

GODREJCP is ripe for a breakout. Its 20-period Bollinger Band has been under squeeze for the last 7 trading days.

RELIANCE, which was under Bollinger Band squeeze for many trading days, seems to have broken out yesterday. Closing above 950 could give further momentum to move higher.

falcon.
