Hi,
The EMA charts if seen in "charts" and "charts Beta" are different.
For eg. the EMA 5,35, 65, charts for HCC in "charts" for the period 2006-06-08 and 2006-10-08, are different from "charts beta".

I am confused. Which is the correct chart ?

Good question.

There are two things here:

1. There is a number "rounding" problem in iCharts Beta indicator values display so the values displayed are a bit off. We are in the process of fixing that.

2. Exponential Moving Averages are very sensitive to the number of days used to compute them. So if we use different periods then we get slightly different values. The old charts & icharts beta use two different programs to generate the charts so the number of days they consider could be different. We will try to use the same periods to keep things consistent.

With other indicators also please remember that there could be slight variations of values if you compare with softwares like TradeStation, MetaStock etc. Even the values between TradeStation & MetaStock might not match for few indicators. This is there due to slight differences in their algorithms. So please keep this in mind before you compare values.

Then again, such small variations shouldn't really matter in analysis of stocks. But we do assure you that we are always on the look out for mistakes in our logic. If we find a problem we fix it ASAP.
