Dear ST Sir..

Once we close a spread in last month..what are the ways to initiate next diagonal ??

Shall we just close the current diagonal and immediately initiate the next diagonal in the direction of trend or wait for pivot break above or below and enter the diagonal then..

As in current series its uptrend according to 13/233 in hourly what should be done after closing previous bullish diagonal..

Thanks

If the trend is continuing in the same direction then just close the current trade and initiate the next one immediately.

The pivot break confirmation is only for change of trend (after 13/233 changes direction of trend). At this point we flip the trend in the new trend direction.

Hi ST,
As on today, in accounting entries of broker I see:
total utilization = 31000
MTM P/L = 5000
derivative position = 26000

So my stop loss should be 15% of Total utilization or Derivative position?

BR,
Umesh

Confused Confused Today all figures are changed.

total utilization = 26000
MTM P/L = 2000
derivative position = 24000

So what should base for 15% SL?

Thanks in advance.

You can use approx. margin + trade cost at the time of entry. This does not have to be precise and should not change everyday. Also, 15% loss SL is a worst case exit criteria. Ideally, have some technical criteria to decide the exit.

Thanks for clarification.
Already in 15% + profit before August end. Hope it will remain above 15% till 20th Sept.

Saw your post just now. Did you follow up this trade? It did quite well, currently showing P/L of approx 11% on margin.

Hi ST,
Is it okay to trade with strike difference of 300 points when you are not getting good hedge % with 200 strike difference?

Best Regards,
Umesh

ST sir,
I am waiting for yr reply for option trading strategy on intraday
One strategy came in my mind is shared here as below
Short both deep ITMnext call of near month and next month.
For ex. At current if nifty fut 8900 then short 8700 call of sep and octo.at the begining and cover it near 3.15 pm.
Like wise may short put of 9100 sep and octo.
Whats yr view on this strategy..
I think we will not loose but appro 5 to 8 points gain everyday..

Please don't spam the forum. You are posting this link everywhere on the forum. Posting it once in the relevant forum is enough.

A 300 points diagonal will have both higher reward and risk. As long as you are fine with this it should be okay. One should trade this when one is comfortable trading the 200 pts wide diagonal. Managing a wider diagonal spread is different and will require active management to keep any possible losses minimal.

I have not tested this out so can't comment. I trade options only positionally, I don't trade these intraday. You should map the trade example you posted in an options analyzer software (like Options Oracle) and carefully study its risk/rewards before starting trading this intraday.

Sorry for the late reply. I don't have this data at the moment. We have lot of options EOD data but we need to compute IVs and other stuff. Currently we don't have it. Also, I am not sure where we can get this for Indian market. I am sure some websites might have it but I have not come across any that are making it available.

L NOV8700 CALL + S OCT8900 CALL @290 & 92 respectively on 29th Sept morning. hedge = 31.7%
Market fell on same day. So squared off NOV8700 call @ 185 on 30th .
Still holding OCT8900 CALL short position, expecting market will not cross 8900 till Oct expiry.
