Hi Taruj,
Do we have to take cash value if we are trading options or do we take future values.Sorry for my ignorance.

I have read some (not a lot) of text on Options.

Fact is Options AND Futures are derivatives. Which means that both Options and Futures derive their values from an Underlying (which) we know is the Spot Price or Cash Price. Now since Options are derived from Underlying we should ideally see the price movement in the cash to take our decisions.

Most times the movement in futures and options, for any underlying is, proportional for a short (not sure how to quantify) duration.

In short I would want to see Spot Chart for direction, Futures Charts for momentum (not sure how to quantify this) and Options Charts for entries and exits. But then I have been following spot and futures both.

However, I wish some Options Master like Twist/JDPT would help us understand this better.

Hope i didn't confuse you further.

Regards,

Very Sorry Laughing
tell me how you trade. intraday? swings? and what do you trade?
example see BANKNIFTY, then see BANKNIFTY-1M, then see BNF-11100PE and BNF-11100CE for today. see all in 15TF. I am sure you will be able to understand what I am trying to say. I will try to put a slightly detailed study at eod. will try to go bar by bar. try to simplify the things for you.

options - futures - spot - futures - options its a wheel. maybe in sometime I will be able to find a quantifiable correlation.

YES it will be confusing, because I am not a good author and I stink at TA
24 and stink like a skunk at analysis.

but will sure try to help.

Regards,

stay with Nifty Spot or Nifty Futures. Don't use both. are you using the options chart of icharts?

Cliff/JK,

I really cant say what you should use, as I am not an expert, but I would rather look at the spot/cash than futures.

My logic is that options are based on spot, not futures. I may be wrong.
