FIIs had put in almost $67bn in Indian equities during 1993-2007.
They have sold $12bn YTD and current worth of their remaining holding is
~$80bn (this was $244bn in Jan'0. [Quote]


So it is likely that FIIs that had entered the market say around 2005 or
prior could still be sitting on profit on their holdings, even after 70%
loss in value.


So they can still sell for a profit.
