Yes Amit ,In normal circumstances market may reverse at any time above 10k fund flow in to cash markets. But during record high periods the inflows were 20K plus before a meaningful correction sets in.

20-03-14

FII: 722.02 (Cumulative 13555.37) (-185.66 Feb) (111.81 Jan) (13489.39 Dec)

DII: -563.29 (Cumulative -5827.31) (88.680 Feb) (-2429.37 Jan) (-7041.39 Dec)

Nifty:6483.10 (-40.95) -0.63%

Breakout downside happened finally; But, nothing alarming from FII figures. It's still buy on dips market. This breakdown could as well be a false one.

FII bought huge in Cash (Net buy 4222.10 Crore)
FII also sold in index future, stock future but bought in index option (Net sell 783.75 Crore) and their average price per contract comes to around 6475.81.

The huge cash purchase should be taken with a bag of salt since most of it is for purchase of axis bank in govt stake sale.

FII: 4222.10 (Cumulative 17777.47) (-185.66 Feb) (111.81 Jan) (13489.39 Dec)

DII: -4076.60 (Cumulative -9903.91) (88.680 Feb) (-2429.37 Jan) (-7041.39 Dec)

Nifty:6493.20 (10.10) 0.16%

As explained by Vinay most of the 4k+ inflows from FII's must be for the purchase of Axis bank shares. But DII's too purchased Axis bank shares. How come it's not reflected in their figures?. The multiple block deals done for the stake sale of GOI in Axis bank is for the value of 5557 crores. Some part must have been bought by DII's ...especially by LIC.

Any ways FII's figure reaching near 20K.Is it fair to consider this and assume that market will go for a correction at any time soon?...I am not sure.

FII's are relentlessly pumping in. They may stop it at targeted index level. We may not have any clue of that target except guesses. How ever most probably FII's inflows may reach 20k levels by tomorrow. The flow may reverse any time after that at least for a short duration.
