Dear Rk,

If you have, pl post the data of Fiis figure for the period from 1st Jan2008 to31st Jan2008.If I remember correct till the previous day of jan 2008 crash they were in net buy only.

Jan 2008, net FII figure is -29,447.51cr and DII figure is +16,414.69cr

FII had only 4 small net buy days in Jan 2008 :

25th jan +208.48cr
11th jan +107.40cr
8th jan +570.65cr (satyam scam day)
4th jan +16.01cr

Infact, December 2007 was also net sell -6,819.80cr for FII but +4,952.1cr for DII.

And Nov 2007 FII was also -13,689.26cr but DII +8,553.41cr

apka, our market was too late to react then. Remember housing and lehman crisis started in 2007. That time, there were much fewer FIIs. Also, remember it was Nomura and Edleweiss who started selling first

Yes,I remember that...... during the lag period a theory of DECOUPLING was put forwarded by some economists and analysts justifying our markets defiance. 24

oh yeh, the famous decoupling... forgot about it... it had been mentioned many times over and over again

Among BRICS and developing countries India is leading in attracting fund flows at the moment. That could be triggered by so many factors.

How ever FII's favorites keep on changing from time to time based on specific analysis of specific conditions. Once the darling of FII's i.e CHINA registered outward fund flows during this period. What effect the Chinese Premiere statement for the comittement of improving their GDP growth will have on inflows? yet to see.

It may help us if we are able to track BRICS and Major developing countries inflows at least on monthly basis.
