Manoj,
Extreme right side figures with in the brackets are Dec expiry month figures which are not going to change. Cumulative figures are for current Jan month. |

01-02-14
FII: 10.16 (Cumulative 731.680) (13489.39)
DII -222.12 (Cumulative -869.01) (-7041.39)
Nifty:6301.65 (-2.35) 0.04%
After a long time net cumulative selling of DII's for the current expiry month overtaken net FII's cumulative buying. It appears that some sort of correction in index is on cards while we move forward if the same trend continues |

Hello rk sir,
Since I am NOT old trader, you may find my question silly. I am observing it from last 3 months, Why FII are buyers and DII are always sellers?
I appreciate your efforts and time to answer this.
Thanks

Shreyas,
Some times DII's turn out to be net buyers especially when ever FII's turns in to aggressive sellers.
We are looking at day to day activity which may help us in gauging the short term moves of Index. We may get a better understanding if we look at yearly figures of institutes. We must understand that institutes are majorly long term players and aim for long term returns.
I don't know the answer for your specific question but this figures are just for the cash segment. FNO ,Debt, Currency segments activity not covered in this figure.
How ever. we need not bother about why some were net buyers or some were net sellers. It's enough for us if we are able to figure out the net effect of this activity on the market direction by gauging this trend. |
