Nifty 7795.75 (27.90) 0.36%

Nifty closed at record high. Earlier close was 7787.It's just 7 points above.A record for the sake of record.

By Friday we may know whether market makers want to take it to real new highs or not. As of now fund flows are in favor of an up thrust. Technically NS formed a Doji but without volumes. The whole up move of this leg is in fact with out volumes. For revisiting highs high volumes may not be demanded but for breaking out it's a must.

Make a note that even though market closed at new highs; Most of the high beta stocks are going down and down away from there recent highs.

I guess that these are the counters where long positions are held heavily in FNO by retail traders.

Fund flow in to cash segment is not encouraging. Please refer my comments in Market Master Mind thread.

FII : -381.66 Cumulative 10853.47 (9030.76 June) (12916.38 May) (7474.31 April) ( 23662 March) (-185 Feb) (111 Jan) (13489 Dec)

Nifty 7791.40 (-42.7) -0.55%

Index not only refrained from going down but also went up. But the fund flows in to the cash market is suggesting that this up move may not continue.

How ever, the new series could be the beginning of a new game. Let us see the opening moves of the institutes. Then we may get a chance to guess the possible end game.

NS went up nearly 300 points in this series as of now. Promising infusions in the beginning of the month withered away along with the progress of the series.

We got the cues of this southward move yesterday it self. Well, let us see the first day of new expiry.

The south ward journey is likely to continue.

Nifty 7602.60 (-118.70) -1.54%

As expected markets went down, the strange thing is DII's almost matched the selling figure of FII's with their buying. Then how come this brisk down move? That too in the afternoon. Weak global cues could be the one reason.

How ever we can say that the cash market inflows are not as bad as index fall. Thus we may see some sort of recovery on Monday on EOD basis.

RK, intraday OI went upto 145-150 lakhs at highs and it closed at 124 lakhs (down by -7 lakhs from yesterday).

So longs exiting, from global cues as you said maybe.
