SAVDHAN: CAREFUL:
I have unlimited broadband landline from BSNL (Rs 750 pm) and till 3 days back, 3g dongle also from BSNL (540 plan = Rs 610). I have always assumed BSNL is safest of the Telcos
My daughter's room is little far from router so slightly slow speed of data transfer so she plugged in my 3g dongle and consumed 15 GB in 10 days with very fast data transfer.
I got interim bill of Rs 12500 and when I went to enquire was told it was correct and in fact had risen to total Rs 14500!!! I cried bitter tears and paid up, ripped out the sim and after scratching it surrendered it along with letter
Apparently the extra bytes after free are very costly and aimed at recovering from you the crores telcos pay in licence fee to the even greedier Central Government
Friends, please dont give your dongle to anyone (even wife/ husband, daughter/ son, sister/ brother, g/b-f). Keep an eagle watch on bytes consumed (total is for both incoming and outgoing) and stop for few days if in doubt. I dont know but I am told there is way to check total on BSNL website

ThaTS the reason, I use 3G prepaid dongle of Reliance (just for back up), whereas I have BSNL 950 broadband unlimited plan with speed of 4mbps upto 4 GB, thereafter 512kbps......i feel this is good plan.

@ pkholla

I faced this with airtel broadband 2 months back but luckily, they dont bill extra, they dropped the speed by 1/8th of the plan speed.

They have automatically changed the plan from unlimited to 15Gb limit without notice and information. Plus they have also increased prices by upto 10% for all plans.

Instead, they are giving options to buy hourly or a fixed GB on a low cost whenever needed once crossed.

You know what's happening, all this 2G scam, etc. Now that the companies have to rebid and also probably pay for some renewal fees of spectrum, where will they do it from? take a bank loan, pay interest... and who will it be recovered from end user. Rcom increasing tarrifs by 25%.

I so despise the people blindly agreeing to scam scam as given by CAG or papers Rolling Eyes .. Nobody applies the mind ultimately cost will be passed on. Same will happen with Coal Scam, if reauctioned, whereever it is used like for generating electricity, the per unit cost will increase for end users. vanish

I think me as a Hyderabadi is blessed in case if it comes to internet connection. I had subscribed for a 2mbps unlimited connection @ Rs 950. One day I got a call from service provider telling that they are increasing my internet speed to 10mbps. Before I could refuse the offer, they added in with a sentence "at no extra cost" .. y at all i refuse then .. lol .. in actual terms it works out to around 8-9 mbps speed .. even after crossing the 'limit', i think i'm getting a good speed .. so much so that if we view any video on line, that so called buffering doesn't come in between .. it just buffers for around 2-3 seconds initially .. btw .. due to some telecom policy now they increased the rate by around Rs75 or so .. Hi prakash
There is nothing cheaper and best than reliance prepaid GPRS Rs94/..for 2GB valid 30 days,am using this for past 4 months on my dual monitor PC usage 8hrs/day,just buy a net setter dongle for 1300/.. when i bought which accepts all service providers sim card, then go for reliance prepaid GSM card, refill with 94 rs GPRS and start using, good connectivity and good speed for data on mktwatch n charts, renewal can be done online with 5% rebate
As a back up and movies/youtube am using Tata photon 450Rs unltd plan covering All India with reduce speed after 1 GB.so one can have 2 connections at 550Rs to serve u unltd and also back up each other
Recently my friends have also switched /added this for their net services
Cheers

Speed varies with network signal strength in your area i havent bothered to check eveb as it says 7.2Mbps on logging ,It serves my purpose in trading and charting thats enough for me in data uploading, for movies photon works best for me.

Friends: My BSNL 3g card is fast. My daughter proved this by DL 14-5 GB in 10 days! I have thrown out the BSNL sim (Rs 14,500 penalty)

Can I unlock the card for use with say Reliance sim???

Details: CARD provided by teracom.in goa, LW272, 3g, 3.6 Mbps data card

God bless you in advance for help to this sufferer!

Prakash Holla

I went to freetrics and got solution: to edit regedit.
