JoJO,
thanks for making a nice document with sufficient details. Method has similarity to "swing trading - the speculator way". Profit-booking element is new .

regards
vin

JO JO

Very nice system indeed.

Thnx for posting in the forum.

You were long yesterday at 5358 with SL 5321.

Today, a down fractal was formed at 5326 did you raise your SL to 5326 and later on reversed your position on breach of 5326 with SL 5349.6 OR SL should be 5366.8 and carried the short position overnite, as the price has closed below 34EMA.

Can we call 5349.6 a Fractal ?

All the fractal are marked with blue horizontal line.

Shekhar,
5349 is a fractal, in general. For FTS system, up fractal formed above the ema is to be considered. up fractal formed below ema is to be ignored.

i hope my understanding is correct.

vin

hi shekhar / vin.....tks for the posts...here is my reply.

1) 5326 is NOT a down-fractal, as you need minimum two 30 minute bars to the right of the 1500hrs bar, with higher lows. You have only one bar there.

2) As regards 5349, Vin you are right. It is a Fractal, but in FTS we ignore it.

3) 5349 becomes tradeable only if we get a quick rally above 5349 with the 34 EMA remaining below 5349, at the point of break-out. Same is true abt 5338 Fractal now.

4) My longs got stopped out at 5321. I didnt short at 5321. Due to holidays and still unclear trend, I decided to stay on the sidelines. I placed a stop-sell-order at 5306, which was not filled.

5) In a sideways market, trend-following systems can frustrate you to no end. But you never know when the breakout is gonna happen and in which direction. So you take only affordable risks. If we dont get a breakdown here and now, odds of a triangle consolidation seems to be high...with eventual upside breakout.

6) In rangebound markets, i try to take day-trades and convert them to FTS trades, as and when fractals are taken out. Right now...5340/5315 are long/short entry points for me...while 5367/5307 remain the relevant fractals for the FTS system based trades.

Regards/jo.jo

hi rocky...

You have to excuse me, as both the Alligator as well as the Awesome Oscillator are not part of this simple FTS.

JOJO & Vinst

Thnx for your response.

Hope ! I will be able to identify Fractals as they should be.

"Right now...5340/5315 are long/short entry points for me...while 5367/5307 remain the relevant fractals for the FTS system based trades."

JOJO I could not get you there. 5317 is a down fractal now, isn't it ? and below 34, for short 5315 be the entry point. Why 5307 still as per FTS ?
