Was there a time gap of placing the order & execution, like you placed it 12:20 & it got executed 12:21.
As you are with zerodha, it gives NSE-Tame , so its quite sure that HFT is working at best.
HFT gives you the advantage of looking not only the best five of Market Best Price but the entire position built in.

In-deed, Mini-nifty made a low of 3512 with a volume of 18,120 to be precise as per one minute chart trade setup taken directly from NSE site. Screen shot of the chart is attached here.
In this era of algo driven robotic hft setups - as a trader we need to be prepared for this kind of surprises.
Should one has any doubt about the trade execution / cancellation details, he can always have recourse of verifying it directly with NSE - Please use trade verification module in NSE website.
As per my knowledge and experience, client service at NSE is good one.

| Just for the information, as a benefit to all guys like us, sebi is coming up with rules/guidelines about algo based HFT trading e.g. they must happen thru broker's servers only so that quantity and speed is reduced.

Just go through NSE trade verification system to see the status of your trade as per Contract Note

So now there's a freak trade in Nifty Futures... 
luckily this time i was on the right side of the trade... the mkt just gave me back wt it took from me in the previous freak trade... 
Now tht its happened in Nifty, news channel are at least taking this up and asking the same qtns tht i was asking last mth...
Hope NSE does smthng to regulate these freak trades...
