Hi
Profit calculation of 1st hedging position of Jan.2010 :
Position taken on 05 January 2010
Sold Options of Feb.2010 Series and Hedging to be done by Nifty Future of January 2010 Series.

Premium of 5100 Call = 239
Premium of 5400 Put = 209
Total Premium = 448

Nifty Future Points gained = 0
Points gain at the time of selling both options = 523

Net gain in points 523 - 448 + 0 = 75 Points

Target : 200 Points by 21-25 January 2010.

Thanks

We go short only two times. because most of the times whipsaws came around 3.00 - 3.30 pm and as per rules we don't take any position. Moreover we have the strategy how to cover the lost points. Can you please go through entire thread again?

Thanks

I have updated 'Stocks Positional Calls' thread with some more stocks for investment. Also visit that area as calls given earlier for selected stocks are now blasting.

Hope people must have covered their lost points on the basis of going short double number of lots. I had till date lost 31 points during the whipsaws and have covered all the points today.

Thanks

Hi Hans,
I don't know much about the options trading.
could you please discuss the scenario if nifty falls below 5100?

Also, it appears that somekind of timing is required to take the positions.
Like some important levels.

Could you please explain these two points?

thanks

1st i would like to thanks hansraj for this great strategy.

I have been following this strategy for quite some time now
and its just amazing to see how it works.

I have a question for u hans
Its fine that if the entry pt for fut comes after 3:00 PM,we will give it a pass. But wht to do if exit pt (stoploss) gets hit after 3 PM.
shall we exit or stay invested?

thank you.

You have to exit but not to take fresh entry. Only exit is allowed between 3.00 - 3.30 pm but entry is not allowed.

Hi All

I wish to change some levels for hedging with Nifty Future. Actually this is for the first time, I have experienced so many whipsaws at long or short levels. Nifty has spent most of time between 5250 and 5300 levels. Till now we have got 116 points against the target of 200 points. As we have to take a fresh position within next 1-4 trading days, let's revise the strategy for hedging with Nifty Future. So here is revised plan for hedging :

(i) If Nifty trades below 5200 level, hold the short but revise the level of going long as 5200. Please revise the level if Nifty trades below 5200 for 5 minutes either at the opening or during the day.
(ii) If Nifty goes below 5150, then hold the short position and revise the level of going long as 5150.
(iii) If Nifty remains above 5200 levels and remains below 5250, hold the short position but revise the level of going long as 5250.

We have to take these steps to attain profit of 200 points for our present position.

During the next strategy I will also give levels of going short and long and to cover incremental points by hedging.

Thanks

Dear sir,

As per your new strategy I think our target is to catch 200 points.. Right ?
One small suggestion instead

We can Go long above 5200 and short below 5200 by doing this i think the possbility of staying NIFTY at one point -5200 is very less either it should go up or down from this level,,,

secondly we can use straddle strategy sell 5200 call and selling 5200 put where we gain some more points on time decay

Any suggestion or correction pls suggest

andrew
