GANN levels for the day |

Hi Umesh,
After hitting the first target, what should be the stoploss. Should it be buy price or the previous one (which was at the time of buy)?
Pls clerify.

As per strategy 50% position book profit at 1st tgt,remaining shall trail with entry price and profit booked every 15 points,so as u r not in -ve,dont attempt to win the world in a day Gann says hitting stoploss and booking profit is a winners strategy,those who miss both loose all.detail is given in earlier posts

| suppose in first trade after 9.20..SL is hit..then do we again calculate new values.?? if yes then atp or which price is used for new levels??? |

Hi
If stoploss is hit in 1st trade ,you will get again entry levels based on same atp of first 5 min,and consider valid for the day,you can check by entering atp at various times and see what u conclude ????.try to follow a strategy with discipline,3 consistent stoploss in a day log off as mkt is sideways wait another day same way 3 tgts log off and enjoy theres always another day fortunately in this market tomorrow always come

| Umesh..one more thing..i traded dis for sumtime few months back..i was using atp at 9.30 am..problem i faced was i used to trade in 2 mini lots..if u use 3 pt filter on both buy sell then risk cumes to 23 pts..(17 pts normal diffrence in buy & sell levels plus 6 filter) & 3 points brokerage on each lot also..so all in all risk is 26 pts/per lot..(u mentioned it, i think in sum of your earlier post)..& if we take the reward ratio.1st tgt is rougly 15 pts & second tgt 30 pts..So on 2 lots..risk is 52 pts (23 *2 lots plus 3+3 pts brokerage on 2 lots) & reward is 39..(45 pts-6 pt brok on 2 lots)..so not a healthy r/r ratio..unless its strike rate is above 90%..your comments as you have been trading on dis for long time..it would have been very beneficial for all here, if u can upload/ or sum one take an initiative to upload an excel of the results of atleast 2-3 months.. |

Dear smartie
The strategy you mentioned is not same as mine,Give two traders the same amount and same system of buy and sell signals,still one will make money and other will not,coz they are two unique mind sets working on the same system but following what their mind says to do.like you keep a filter of 3 points on either side where as its not neccessary for sl you need not wait for 3 points filter,your cost of trade is 3 points does not reflect everyones cost is same ,
You have traded using Gann but with your defined strategy and still not making out of it ,so better tune your system,as far as report for 2-3 months ,i suggest just follo this forum or do with your 2 lots of mini by following the strategy as explained earlier and calculate the result after 1month or 2 months /3 months you will get the answers,results will be proportional to your appetite of risk and reward

hi Umesh
i will keep this in mind that when 3 targets hit- close the trading n chill
this month it gave 100 points if traded just once
if traded all possible trigger then 170 points till today closing
which looks good

i dont use any filter-- i just see the value n trade there--
as 4761-- was buy today --
it gave 2 target in morning
again gave buy at same rate-- made 1 target
again gave buy and made 3 targets
again if bought at 4761-- sl hit-- 18 points--
short triggered and stop loss hit 18 points--
agian buy triggered and 3 targets hit again
so total gain was-- 80 points today in single lot as average |

and applied this on all commodity also-- silver--gold-- copper-- nickel-- Crude-- zinc--lead-- ect
and started trading crude on it
today call was
Buy crude at 5222-- sl 5202-- target 5235-- 5253--5271
and all target hit
Short crude at 5202-- sl 5222-- target 5186--5168--5151 |
