PT icharts admin also must be into programming...if time permits pls guide
Any input from you is very valuable.
Thanks,
Amit

Amit,

First of all, thanks for raising this relevant topic.

Currently i believe that globaldatafeeds and zerodha have a tie up where one can semi-automate the trading strategy i.e. the strategy can be written in AFL (amibroker) and when a signal is triggered a buy or sell order will pop up. One can then decide to take the signal or ignore it. If one takes the trade it will be routed through one's zerodha account. more info is there on the respective sites.

Also for individual/retail once cannot have a fully automated strategy as one needs approval from sebi to trade a particular strategy... not the exact parameters but more from a risk management perspective.

would be useful if others also shared their experiences and views on automated trading strategies here.

regards
apt

I am power broker of Sharekhan

Sharekhan provides facility for automated trading.

If you are using amibroker/metatrader/etc then its straight forward..

But unfortunately, I don't know amibroker nor metatrader etc Sad Sad

Regards,

NP

transcap,
what do you want to do using automated trading? If you want to develop a trading system, try ambibroker. Download trial version of Ambibroker.
Learn AFL and you can do it. follow the link to learn AFL

VishyTns,
Thank you very much for your extremely relevant input.
This is a starting point. We can test a lot of systems in icharts & later write the code.

Dear friends,
I would like to know, whether it is possible to do automated trading using excel based signals instead of using chart based signals. For example a scrip opens at 100 I want to buy when it crosses 105 or to sell at 95 after triggering the order keeping the S/L or reversing the trade.

Chandru: i dont know about automated trading but have you considered PRICE ALERT? Suppose you place price alert (or ask broker to keep) it is not obligation to buy/ sell. You can after alert trig, decide what to do. Also buy/ sell goes away at end of trading today but alert remains till trig.
I have found it very good to buy/ sell at price indicated by turning points on charts
Cheers, Prakash Holla
