Mind boggling info...

*_"Classic example of How investment is better than consumption! "_*

How Many People are riding *ROYAL ENFIELD BIKE* ? or wish to ride it ?

Look at the company`s growth

*Eicher Motors* (Makers of Royal Enfield).

Share Price on September 2001 = *_Rs. 17.50_*
Price of Royal Enfield bike in 2001 was Rs.55000/-

If any one would have bought the shares of Eicher Motors instead of a bike than he would have got *3143* shares ((Rs. 55000/ Rs 17.50 (share Price) = 3143 Shares))

Eicher Motor`s Share Price currently near *Rs. 20,000* Total Value as 3143 x 20,000= *6++ crore*
*_55000/- is worth 6++ Crore in 15 Years._*

Now he could hv bought *_Rolls Royce._*

Apka: For many years, US teachers tested pre- KG 4 year olds. The teacher would say that I will give you one chocolate if you want right now
BUT if you are willing to wait 10 minutes, I will give you 2 chocolates (time value)
Most kids accepted the immediate reward
BUT A FEW WAITED. These same kids were later found out to be big winners in stock market, real estate investments, jobs etc!
Well worth the wait? Prakash Holla

apka, when they started enfield, they never thought it would sell like hell nor was it their plan. Most successes are not due to planned decisions. In fact most decisions assumed to be right, go wrong and vice versa.

Read "Fooled by Randomness" by Nassim Nicholas Taleb.

Wonders of Market :

22nd Jan 2009 - price of Bajaj Finance Rs.55/-
26th July 2016 - it touches Rs.9745/-

Investment of Rs.55000 becomes Rs.97.45 Lakhs.

Apka: How about INFY?

My relation bot 200 Infy in IPO, Feb 1993, @ 100 = Rs 20000
He sold 3000 back to Infy for GDR issue in 2004, @ Rs 2000 each
He left 22000 when he died in Sept 2006, each Rs 2000 = Rs 4.4 crore?

This is approx 86.2% return each year compounded EVEN EXCLUDING LARGE DIVIDENDS PAID EACH YEAR

Very true.
I would like to analyze my relation's purchase of Imperial Tobacco Co. of India (and Infy). He bought 100, FV 10 @ 100 (?) in 1980 and never sold a share. When he passed away in 2006, he had approx 60000 Re1 FV @ 200? each, apart from excellent dividends
1 Market leader if not monopoly
2 Product not easily substituted and "captive" market who find it difficult to leave smoking
3 Unlimited funds available for business as, apart from retained earnings, subsidiary of giant BAT MNC
3 Zero debt
4 Clear vision and leadership of Deveshwar group
5 Guts to diversify

+ in addition, in Infy:
5 Game changer. People normally not associated with entrepreneurship, like middle class, succeeded with a bang, Also promoters were honest with other investors so everyone benefited
6 Entirely new market/ product
7 New entrant so high margin of profitability

If such a co comes forward today, we can expect it to emulate ITC and Infy!

Actually everyone decides for himself whether they want to invest or not. Meaning where and why to invest. i think ou should rely on those who talk about the best possibilities, but afterall rely on oneself.
