If i am all right- not impressed with the result at all-- i may be wrong in calculation

I didnt mention 8 Ema here

Its 3 -- 34 EMA-- on 30 MIn TF

when 3 EMA value is higher-- then 34-- take long-- Exit when its lower n short--

thats it - let 30 min candle close n on opening of next candle do it

Does this mean 3 Ema and 34 Ema crossover on 30 min tf?

If it is so, then nifty has given sell signal at the closing of Friday session. Am I right ?

hi friends,
I assume all the ppl who are contributing to this thread are really serious about this strat. But i would like to bring into light another aspect of this strat.Let's conside two scenarios :
1. Mr A started applying this strat when there was secular Trending mkt. He will make a lot and (i presume he sticks to trading rules), and then even if consolidation phase comes, the initial profits will take care of MTM obligations as well as inevitable losses in consolidation phase.

2. Mr. B started applying this strat when there was Consolidation phase.Obviously there will be whipsaws, Profit as well as Losses. Lot money will be earned by broker due to frequent trades. How far a person will continue ? what will be approx amount of loss/profit in consolidation phase? ......as a result , he will step out and then will miss trending mkt later as consolidation phase will one day or other is bound to end.

Now, the point is nobody knows whether it will be trending mkt or consolidating mkt , either today or in near/mid term future.Its simple to say tht we will strat applying this strat in trending mkt, but HOW TO PREDICT/IDENTIFY correctly the START of a trend?...........NOBODY CAN...

Now what we can do? ...Nifty is in a consolidation phase since Sep09.(in between it broke tht channel and gave trending move).
We all have diff set of EMA. We all will take simlar TF ie EOD/30min/60min between spot Nifty from Sep09 to JUn11 and come out with results . We can have a clear picture about strategy performance as well we can decide which set of EMA and entry/exit rules to follow.

(I personally did study on spot nifty a year back on 10year nifty data with my EMA settings. Results were astonishing. But i was sceptical about it as the market was trending in 2002 period due to Ketan Parekh scam. As a result i hesitated to actually apply. But now a serious discussion seem to have strated. Let's work together).
So , i request all who have some serious interest, to come and post their results for above mentioned period......The system has surely potential, only u have to follow system with DISCIPLINE. But we r aftraid about consolidation period. Lets find the performance for bad period. If it's satisfactory, we should not hesitate.

As someone rightly commented "who has the guts to roll over entire money (original investment + profits) on a continuous basis?". If not, why dream about it?

If someone has actually done it, even for a short period, I am sure every one will love to hear his/her story.

1} thing is why we are checking these formulas-- just to get idea that what is best

what all i checked back tested 5 years is following

1} 3 Ema-- 7 Ema-- EOd-- failed
2} 55 sma-- High --low-- close--- Failed-
3} 8 Ema-- 34 Ema-- For me its not too good
4} the last was 3Ema --34 Ema-- 30 Min Tf-- which gives net 200 points in 1 month -- so thats hot,
5} Histogram i mentioned- Fxtradepro templete, rocks-- almost like 3--34 ema 30 TF, it gave 9000 points in last 5 years


In last 5 years--we have see consolidations-- gap ups-- gap downs-- Circuits-- Rallies-- every thing almost ...

It rocks when its in MCX--- be it EOD or its 1 Hr--- its best best


It gave copper long around 406-8--- coper is 431-
It gave short Nickel at 1240-- now covered at 1052-- now long

so its best in MCX-- but in equirt i wont appriciate--

Now some one here posted Silver trade statergy -- checking high -- low made between 12-- 1 pm-- book in 150 points-- both side-- short n long

I am personally trading it from 10 days-- No Stop loss yet-- and making 300 points daily--

now this statergy is best -- monthley u get 6000 points-- now if u get targets 14 days-- thats 4200 points-- and stop loss 6 days-- that normally -- 3000 points in total-- Net u get 1200 points-- after brokrage 800 points in silver Mini--

this too if u do consistentely-- and increase lot size 50% every month-- after 12 months u will get around 316900 points in total-- which means -- 15 lac -- on investment of 25000 today--

what else one wants-- this is on 35--40% sucess ratio-- where as ratio is 80% plus

so whats harm in doing it--

i am one of them who trade it daily--- and i thank to the guy who posted it here that he broke Da Vinchi Code of silver---

Just to add on this trading or not --i will post a story here

In Ancient time a sage use to pray in jungle under a tree near river, area was populated with monkeys. when ever sage was out of his prayer or sadhana--these monkeys use to throw his belongings into river. He was very much disturbed . One day he decided to talk to the monkeys. He asked them-- why you are disturbing me like this always ?

Monkeys replied-- We want to become human being like you, help us or we will disturb you.

Sage said; Ok i will talk to god regarding this.
Next day god came and announced , Any one who jumps into the river and comes out in 1 min, i will make him human being.
All monkeys started discussing. Should we jump, if we jump and come out and we are not made human beings , it will be cheating, what should we do ?

One old female monkey was on a tree, watching them, when 56 Sec passed by-- she suddenly jumped in water and came out-- she was turned in a beautiful girl-- all monkeys were amazed and few were angry also.. We were discussing and why u jumped..??

She said fools, every day we jump in river 100 times without any cause, Today there was a cause and you all discussing. what was harm in trying it, even not made human being.

I tried and see the result.


So discussions are endless,, just try it-- as i am trying like the female monkey and atleast sucessfull in silver trades

hi rahul,
i have 1 question: is ttht 3-34 EMA u r saying, is close EMA VALUES or is there also 34 EMA (HIGH/LOW/CLOSE) like ur earlier strat?
Also why should not we calcualte for specific period sep09 to jun11?
