sir,
I have been using EOD data for nifty for preparing for the morning trades. I have very often found that the ADX data on the charts and the one that I calculate differs. Take today for example the ADX as per me is at 14 and your data shows 32.55. I may be wrong but it definitely requires your attention. You can see how many times I found it wrong and have to mention as such in my blog.
thanks
will anxiously wait for a reply.

Please let us know which charts did you see this in? Charts, Charts (Premium) or JCharts (EOD).
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT POST YOUR WEBSITE LINK HERE. _________________ Srikanth Kurdukar

Sir,
The link was to show you the chart that i pasted. No intention of advertising - in any case i appologise. For the data - go to charts premium - nifty eod for three months with adx plotted with default values (14).
value is 32.55 - should be around 14 - don't remember exact figure. crosschecked with manual calculation and in a software. |

Hello
Yes... The Charts (Premium) EOD data shows WRONG ADX values... without a doubt.
When I joined here, me too complained in this same forum about this.
Unfortunately nothing has happened, it has not been rectified.
Request as least to withdraw the wrong indicators from the list if not able to rectify - it might seriously interfere with trading decision.
Regards,
Saikat |

Ok, I will get it checked again.
Saikat, if we did not fix it then it could be due to some reason. The indicators are computed by a well known technical analysis software interface. We usually do not change anything in it so as to make sure there are no mistakes from our side. If there are mistakes in the software interface itself then we will have to let the developing company know and let them fix it instead of we customising it and making it incompatible with future software updates.
Anyway, I will get it checked and update this forum thread in the next 2-3 days. Please post a reminder again here in few days if I don't post anything soon. _________________ Srikanth Kurdukar

Saikat,
Have asked our tech guys to look at it. If we are unable to get any response from the software people about it in the next few days then we will think about withdrawing the indicator temporarily. _________________ Srikanth Kurdukar

Admin / ST,
I would not agree with you to withdraw the indicator - running away or wishing the problem under the carpet is not exactly the kind of reply I was expecting from you.

Dear Cheema,
Thanks to you and Saikat for bringing this to our attention again.
We are neither running away or wishing anything under the carpet (we don't have one.. ). We have clearly mentioned that we will temporarily remove it if it can't be fixed quickly. We will do whatever is required, deemed necessary and is in the interest of our valued members. Until such time all members are requested to use JCharts.
We will update this topic with the action taken. For now please treat this topic to be closed.
Thanks for your understanding
Regards,
