collected paper trading result of avinash intraday strategy from 15th june, lost rest of the data.
15 june-s@5493 b@5460(+33)
16 june-b@5420s@5446(+26)
17 june-s@5412 b@5375(+37)
20 june- stoploss more than 30 points , no trades taken.
21 june-no trades taken( link failure).
22 june-s@5293 b@5268 (+25)
23 june-b@5270 s@5310(+40)
24 june- stoploss more than 30 points, no trades taken.
27 june- stoploss more than 30 points, no trades taken.
28 june-s@5538 b@5508(+30)
29 june-stoploss more than 30 points, no intraday trade taken.
30 june-b@5630, sl triggered @5606(-24).
my broker charge me approx 4.5 to 5 rs per nf trade.
so cost of the7 trades almost 35points.
result- 33+26+37+25+40+30-24 =167-35= 132 points net gain.
but ALAS! those were paper trades only.
in july as soon as i started real time trades, scenario is completely different.

today sold @5623, stoploss triggered @5646.(-23)
plus cost of trade rs. 5=(-2 .
total loss in july -82-28= -110 points.
normally i do not discard a strategy before i test it for 6 months, but if the trend continues , i will lost most of my trading capital well before 6 months.
any suggestion friends.
IS JULY JUST A BAD MONTH?

dear ans
i dont know this strategy in details. a cursory view in this thread suggest that the essence of this strategy is catching the early move which in raw market terms, we call "opening range break out"
while i am not an expert, but i am "trading for living" for quite a long time, i would like to assure you that there is no good month or evil month in this market. some time market reacts in our favor some time it does not, specially, there are two phases in market , one is trending phase ...... which is quite easy to trade and another is non trending or choppy phase... here market remains in narrow range
any strategy which is a super hit in trending market will become a "choker" during this choppy phase, its quite common in market.
if you want to trade successfully in choppy time or volatile time, u need to stick to your monitor to act up on the shortest moves and that requires lot of experience as well as technical insight .
from ur previous post, it was seen that you are a part time trader who does not have enough time to monitor the market and assuming you are not a "cutting edge technical trader" , i would like to suggest you that you should go for "positional trading" which will allow u a flexible time, for this positional trade, i would like to recommend that you should contact senior positional traders like speculator, nsinojia, mayur nasik, marne.vivek or jai2000, sing.ravee, jjm or any body else whose strategy suits you
if you go through the forum section u will notice that i chart forum is a "gem" its an excellent place to learn and share knowledge.
you can find various useful strategies which are time tested in this forum and you can contact them through this forum easily and if u r a subscriber, then u can contact them in shout box too (live chat)
most of the senior traders here are very cooperative and they take pleasure to help newbies, above all, if you are a subscriber then you can directly contact the site admin ST/PT sirs in case of any confusion regarding trading
finally i will conclude this post by saying " when you have finally reached Ichart, i believe , days of depression and agony in market is is now going to vanish soon"
ps- i am writing so much to tell you what i understood from ur posts that your time frame and availability of market time,is not suitable for intra trades. I, by no way, want to say that "dont follow this or follow only that", but i strongly believe that u have time for positional trading but u r trying to trade in intra and thats why when market is trending u r making good gain and when market is becoming dull, u r counting the loss as u dont hv the time to follow it properly which is essential for an intra trader |

Dear ANS
Though I do not trade I have been following threads and noting the trades whether it was loss or profit or no trade..
Lot of confusion is on what price to be taken to calculate entry points, Sl and tgts..
One simple thing I found that consider the OHLC of candle than terminal prices..
I found the most accurate prices are candle prices
E.g. today based on SK ( Share khan ) the trade was never short i do not remember the fig..as writing from my resi..but diff betn H-O was 6.45 and L-O was 6.25 so trend was up and tgt achieved
Before taking trade do confirm rates in forum..
Do not rush for entry.. even if u r late ..max u may loose 5 pts.. but those will be fr profit..

there are plenty, even if i start to describe them with a few lines, then the focus of this thread will be be de-railed and its not desirable too
while strategy depends on the trader and only trader as his /her capital, money management,risk taking attitude as well as stress management..... all r to b thought b4 choosing the right one, still i will highlight the threads which i personally believe added value in ichart forum and are a "must" in making a trader ( there will be much more which i cant mention, but u can search in future always )
