please see the first few posts of this thread to get details.
I am writing explanation of avinash's method:
it calculate O-H and O-L of the opening 15min bar. whichever of the two (O-H or O-L) is greater, magnitude wise, shows the trend.
O-H > O-L implies trend is down, else up.
next step is target, SL and entry calculation.
Tgt for long position : O + (O*0.0075)
Tgt for short position : O - (O*0.0075)
SL for long position : {O - abs(O-H) - 1}
SL for short position : {O + abs(O-L) + 1}
entry is usually at price at 9:30 , provided SL is <30> 30 points, then entry for long position is long SL + 30 points
If trend is down and SL is > 30 points, then entry for short position is short SL - 30 points
closing price of first 15 min bar has no role to play. |

so there is no big need to try and find some tweaks to avinash's method. |

Vinst/Vinay
I have been a keen follower of this thread/rules and was observing defined rules since few sessions. I was surprised to find that, on day of run away market i.e. whenever we have a strong gap up/down days and opening trend continues till close, the rules remains a mute spectator....I think rules need to be tweaked to address such strong trend days to participate...maybe a VWAP entry......thoughts welcome.
Cheers

You are welcome to give detailed and technical suggestions by editing the stategy and posting it here for Avinash to review. However, such days are not many. So I am fine by it.
Take today for example, odin data is completely out of sync with charts. The target as per odin was almost met in opening value it self. I am sure no stratey works 100% during very choppy markets. |

Based on odin and charts, I got two widely varying values for down trend e.g.
Target 4764.00 SL 4839.70 Entry above 4810 (Target achieved)
Target 4738.20 SL 4787.70 Entry above 4758
So better to be careful |

Forex, the intention of taking a position within 30 points of SL is to increase reward/risk ratio. If you wish you can take a small risk and sell at or above 4810 but remember GDP data is good. So be careful. |
