you are right..i was adding the difference in high to get sl values..it should be added to open price....was doing this calculation after long time..then revisted the first page..& got my mistake..

At 9.30am,
o = 5531.2, h = 5531.2, l = 5515.8
As (high-open) < (open - low), so
TREND IS DOWN
So, sell tgt = 5489, sell sl = 5548, sell range =(5518-5523)
SELL triggrd at 9.31 at 5523
TGT(5489) ACHVD at 11.36 (+34 pts)

When SL is triggered, put the OHLC till that time and recalculate to check if trend has reversed. e.g., in a Long trade at 10:45 SL is triggered. Then we should use OHLC from 9:15 till 10:45 as relevant values to see if new result is downtrend. |

This chart of BNF which shows how it triggers SL when one trades with the monthly pivot. On long position the blue arrow shows that twice it trades above the monthly pivot of 10508 and then drops down. The third time it moves up where the short position is trapped and never to come back as of till date and closed above 11000. Pivots also not considered to be safe for day traders.

I usually wait.
e.g., today shorting level is still not achieved. Unless 5495-5496 comes, I wudn't be shorting. But that is just my choice since it suits me.
