ya price had gone up but the set up failed its is not always necessary that price will go up after the 1-2-3 formation. parabolic moves dont give any set up formation what so ever is one such example.
imp thing is stick to the rules couple of times such things happen but thats part of trading.

it is not imp which time frame is most profitable. rather any time frame which you are comfortable with is profitable provided you play with rules. higher time frames will give you more profits but risk is also high as compare to lower time frames.
Its absolutely up to you.

Interesting bullish 1-2-3 formation on 5 min tf this is not for trading purpose but to show the formation as SL woulb be more than 50 points on 5 min tf. till the time low of point 1 sustained its remains valid.

Nifty future hourly chart if there is no new low below point 1 low and a breakout above point 3 may start a new trend.

excellent short trade in nifty future 5 min tf. General rule (but not necessary always) higher the number of bars in between 1-2 or 2-3 more big the move is.
