NSE Market Breadth as on 12th Apr 2019

No significant change observed in breadth oscillators. Short term breadth has declined a bit during the recent pullback but medium term and long term breadth continue to be strong. So the upmove continues as of now.

NSE Market Breadth as on 22nd Apr 2019

I will be watching this pullback closely and how breadth changes from now during this pullback. What I want to watch is if this move follows the Aug-Sep 2018 pattern (extended chart posted below to show this). Short term breadth topped out in early Aug and then short term breadth made a lower top when medium term topped along with the index and then market declined hard in Sep. This time too we have short term breadth topping out in early Mar and now short term breadth has made a lower top along with medium and price topping out. The only difference in both these pictures is the different position of long term breadth which is encouraging. But it pays to stay alert and watch price action during such times and act accordingly.

May is a big expiry with a huge event lined up. So a retracement to as much as 11300 in May is not impossible I feel before market rediscovers election bullishness.

NSE Breadth Oscillator as on 2nd May 2019

Breadth has been deteriorating steadily in the last couple of weeks but price is holding steady at the moment. Price could follow breadth down.

NSE Breadth Oscillator as on 7th May 2019

All breadth oscillators now negative, this was more or less expected as I had mentioned on 2nd that price would probably follow breadth down. These last two days just confirmed this. Now we just wait and watch for breadth to improve...

There you go....here is today's breath oscillator chart :

NSE Breadth Oscillators as on 9th May 2019

The breadth oscillators are nearing the bottom but there is some more time left. Some back & forth action needs to be there. We are right at 200 SMA (on NIFTY 500 index). If we hold it and breadth bottoms out here then we could see a reversal. But the force with which we went down in the last few days, we need to carefully watch the price action and then take further action. I feel a little bit of delayed action would not hurt at this point.

NSE Breadth Oscillator as on 10th May 2019

Short term oscillator turning up, market could move into a sideways to down mode with up/down action. In other words, it could continue to be volatile.
