Yeah Very Happy and credit goes to you for giving the idea for this indicator.

Based on this chart I think if we see one or two more strong down days in the next few days then the further pullback/correction scenario may play out but at the same time nothing stops the market from taking off from here to the upside for one more rally leg.

thanks St, though at that time it was a wild thought, just trying to find different ways to judge market mood. But I feel market is still in a mood to deceive, may be to eat away option premiums, which means it will go up and down with a -ve slope for some days before it suddenly starts opening gap down on many days.

Hi ST, P_Wangdu,

On some website, I saw sentiment in terms of percentage. Example: 80% market participant think market is bullish...sort of... I am unable to recall that blog.

Whenever this sentiment crosses 90%, its time to be cautious... That what I read on that blog.. I hope I will find that blog.

Just food for thought.. Smile angel

Thanks,

NP

The long term sentiment chart that I am posting (see in my post below) is based on percentage (see left side y-axis). The most popular sentiment chart based on percentage is the "Bullish %" chart that is based on PNF chart bullish/bearish stats (% of stocks that currently have bullish PNF signal). We don't have it yet on our website here but plan to generate it in the near future. The long term sentiment I am computing is based on similar idea.

Another chart from me for those who are interested Very Happy

NSE market breadth - long vs medium term. Well....my definitions of long & medium are 50 days & 13 days respectively Very Happy Basically this chart shows net status of all NSE stocks based on their technicals. For example : If the long term line is above 80% then 80% of stocks are displaying bullish technical characterstics (nothing fancy....something like their short-term moving average being above long-term moving average). If the long term line is around say -60% then it means 60% of stocks have strongly bearish technicals.

I am posting this as the medium term line has just gone negative. I hope the long term line follows and give me an opportunity to add to my longs Very Happy

Sorry for the confusion. Actually I am holding stocks and want to add on to those positions and I am hoping we get the sort of pullback we had in August (shallow pullback in the context of an uptrend). See the pullback we got in Aug, the long term line turned negative but pullback was not too deep. I am hoping we get a similar pullback now.

Options sentiment has given a sell signal. I am not sure what kind of correction we will see here but around 2:30 when it was clear that NF was breaking down I bought a small position of put debit spreads (NOV 5700-5500). This will also hedge my stock positions partially.

"............ but around 2:30 ............"

It looks like you are watching option sentiment regularly intraday. If so, good since market is giving sharp and sudden swings. As long as it happens intraday fine but when it happens due to gap up/down opening, it is scary.
