I wanted to discuss this later but....here it is....here is what you can do to get a faster signal. The current move is a very good example for this. The trend on HTF changed to down at 10:30. At that point onwards if we wait for pullback it may be too late as we are seeing now, still no pullback. Instead of this I look for a break of a recent short-term swing low to short. The swing low was 4873 (10:20 AM bar), once this was broken on LTF it was good to go short.

Look at the previous charts or on other days and you will see that this gets one into the trade quicker many times (sometimes gets into a trade when one is not there too Very Happy so one has to be careful but it is a good idea to keep in the mind).

Here is the entry I was talking about below....this is a high risk idea for traders who can manage to grab profits when they are available.

Vinay,

You mean in terms of intraday or you are talking about daily/weekly long-term trend?

Dear All

1st trade

Reversal one being STS OS, wma closed above sma ..stopped out as wma closed below sma

entry 4894..ISL : 4883..stopped out @ 4884

Stji as usual if any correction, suggestion

Regards,

JJM

Your numbers are correct but the trade trigger was based on CCI on LTF (not on STS) and stop out was due to price closing below the ISL (swing low) (not on wma closing below SMA).

The stop out is due to the fact that trend on 15 mins chart is down (but WMA/SMA is not yet indicating it). We will discuss more in the near future on how to resolve this discrepancy to get better trades.

Dear ST Sir,

you are saying that the trade trigger was based on CCI on LTF but for this condition the WMA on HTF needs to be above SMA in HTF --- then only this CCI trigger comes into picture --- am i correct ?? and the HTF thing happenned at the close of 9:30 candle (9:44:59) ---

we should now look for a CCI trigger after 9:45AM ?? am i correct plz help

St sir can u please mention the time of that candle when the CCI trigger happened ??

Currently STS on HTF is oversold. So I am monitoring the LTF chart. Once a swing high (which is above both WMA & SMA) is broken to the upside it is a long reversal trigger.

I said that because I usually avoid reversals near market open (I had mentioned it y'day or day-before. But it is fine, strictly speaking according to the rules what you said is correct.

Varun,

You are right, WMA crossed above SMA only at 9:45 which is exactly when CCI signal was triggered. I think this trade should have been avoided. JJM's trade was probably correct (if one ignores the rule for avoiding STS reversals around market open).

Thanks for replying ST Sir,

i got your point --- do you avoid reversals near market open because of gap up or gap down openings..... ????

Thanks ST sir,

the only thing that confused me was "you had told jjm that your numbers are right" -- beacuse at 9:45 am nifty was at 4899.35 and it was not on 4894.35 --- that got me confused --- i thought that i was missing out on something --- sorry my fault 40

CCI long signal trigger I was referring to was 9:45 bar (CCI had fallen to -100 and at 9:45 bar close it closed above 0).
