Adding to what PT said, wait for a convincing CLOSE above these levels.

always keep some filters (though they may be hit too). If you were looking for Pivot as your SL, I would add 3 to 5 points as a filter or infact any S and R levels. Generally there is a high probability that they will get hit as many traders are watching them or trading with them. Anyway, getting SL hit was not a problem, not re-entering the trade was, which you already know.

You will become a fine trader soon..make sure you remember yearly sub then

My first trade today was shorting DLF at rejection from 89ema in 5min charts and also daily pivot. with SL above both. It was giong fine. three times it tested 382 - 381 levels and bounced. Marked in chart. though my targets are S1 which is 379.1 and then S2 which is 375 around, covered prematuredly at 382 levels itself. once i covered immediatley in two candles it touched S1. and later S2 also. 24

Learnings:

Even in intraday also just trail our stop loss only. Dont bring your targets front.
When I have finalised the SL as closing above 89 ema, I should have respected it (though the market respected it)
Give the market some time.

Missed out the balance 8 pts from my target . booked only 3 pts. anger3

hi rafi

i am referring to the price touching 89ema(5min charts) or Pivot (which is available in icharts-RT) and getting returned without surpassing it .

dear ravi, for intra on stocks i think it is little tough to wait for close above these levels. I am sure this will avoid lot of whipshaws. But in intra where we are looking for a target of 2 to 4%, if we wait for CC then some times our loss is exceeding target. I have tried this earlier. but now sticking with price only. Because normally in stocks the move is very wild. But i like to follow this for NIFTY where it is very good to follow CC. Just my view. may be wrong. Rolling Eyes

Yesterday's quota

Bought sesagoa at 351.15 average since there was a bullish divergence. with support at (SL) pivot which was at 348. The worry is 5min 89ema and 34 ema are above the price.

price went upto 352.8 levels. noticed later only that weekly resistance was there. price hit stop loss and booked loss.

1. should trade in the direction of the trade. should avoid going long below 34 and 89 and vice versa.
2. should note weekly pivot levels also before entering the trade. (But noticing all this will not allow me to enter the trade.)
3. later noticed that this divergence was due to the small price gap. Should not consider divergence in the opening hour.

Hi crome,
it would have been good, if u would have posted the chart as well.
ur post does not suggest how u closed the trade, and with how much profit loss. so it is difficult to suggest anything further to ur trade.
cant do postmortem 40
Regards
manu

A suggestion, pls post the chart even if u have not traded, as loosing time is also a loss. why did u had bearish bias ? if u follow technicals obviously ur mindset should be non-biased. u use a machine to trade. decision should be machine like.
regards.
