Hello. Let me attempt response to your query.

Scrip which is at life time high, if supported by good fundamental parameters ( like ROCE, ROE, D/E. BV etc.) will continue to move upwards as it attarcts buying interest and most likely will make higher high, higher low pattern. One can continue to hold such scriot with deep SL ( for example, last months low or last weeks low) based on the risk involved.

Usually, one should not risk more than 2% capital for a single script. Hence, if one has 100,000 as capital , max loss figure should be ~ Rs. 2,000 per script. One can divide this by per share SL and arrive at the number of shares to be held.

For example, CMP is Rs. 100 and Last month low is Rs. 90, per share SL is Rs. 10 , with 2000 as max. acceptable risk, 2000/10 = 200 is the number of shares that one can hold. As time passes, one can tighten the SL ( say, last weeks low and further last 2 days low etc.).

Hope this helps. Happy Profiting !

Abhishek: WHATEVER the price, ICharts has an excellent formula to calculate R5, R4 .... S4, S5 the next day depending on previous day open, hi, lo, close.
See EOD, Premium, Platinum charts below the main chart for these tables
Even if the previous day we had 52 wk HI/ LO/ ? in a scrip : what does it matter?
