In this macd c/o method, trade entries are v.good. But exit part is problem. I am trading with a single lot, so prefer to exit with 25/30 pts normally. But if one is trading multiple lots, then he can exit half @ 25 pts and rest half in signal to signal condition and can carry position overnight also. Though risk will be high, so profit will be high also. |

Initially i paper traded this method for 1 month which gave 380 pts. After that i m doing real trades and all my trades i posted here. And overall outcome of this method, what i found is very good. I dont have to watch any cnbcawaaj, dont have to read economic times, no need to worry what is happening in europe, dollar index, vix, crude etc. No tension of gap ups/downs. Only i m watching macd lines. Also i m watching, during my trade if any ww is developing, if yes, then it is in my trade direction or not. Because, i think wws and rsi divergences are v.powerful and can make/brake my trade in seconds. Thnx. |

Ridinghood, i m not using any sma. only macd in 15-min tf with sl 30 pts from entry. Macd has inbuilt m.a. As the name is m(moving) a(averages) c(convergence) d(divergence). The moving averages can be sma or ema or wma. I checked and observed sma is giving better result and can be used in day trading successfully. For macd settings, see my yesterday's post around 10 p.m. Thnx. |

My basic purpose was to find a simple day trading method to gain daily 20/30 pts, so that in a month i can make min 300 pts. I checked macd in 3,5, 15, 30,60 min tf. At last found, 15- tf is giving good result. This is what my 45 days trading experience with it. But i m sure, it is going to work in future also with some fine tuning. And if i will consistent make 250 pts pm, then it is much more as it is appxly 50 percent return per month on my investment. Thnx. |

Meher, there is nothing wrong in ema based macd. Only change the parameters and do some backtesting. I m sure, u can find the best combination of parameters, but keep the average period as 9 and tf as 15 mins. Thnx. |
