if you practice, you will succeed. You must have heard of Omar Sharif, the great actor. Do you know that he was world no. 1 bridge player for many years? He was so focussed while playing that, one day, his friends decided to test him by making a naked woman stand next to him while he was playing but he did not notice her. Distraction is a game that mind keeps playing.

Being aware of events that may affect the market is a must, no matter what anyone says.

In similar circumstances, many would have played hearts suit on the side and made 3 no trumps on the table also!

I agree Vinay. I wish I could be like Omar Sharif. There is my business & so many other things which already keeps me distracted, so the last thing i need is a TV. I used to be glued to TV in my initial days of trading till 2005. But being a technical trader later, i haven't really felt the need though in the past few years.
But do keep me posted on important news, like today, so myself & others can adjust the stops to the volatality.

True Umesh. But again, different people have different ways of trading, so I am not against the people who watch tv. Some are purely a fundamental trader, some are a blend of both fundamental & technical & some are purely technical.
But yes being a fundamental trader the biggest challenge is which news to buy & which news to discard, so having some technical knowledge does give you an edge.

it's the other way shahangan. you should be good in TA and use fundamental news as your edge to tweak it if required. But you can't be blind to it.

Sorry if people got confused with my calls. Though text book says trying to pick the bottom & top is risky & foolishness, so truly my trades will generally look a bit risky, but I am trying to master it, Trading is my passion & every trader or analyst wants to be different, so am I. I am just not getting sufficient time to do the necessary research, since you cant depend on trading to make your living what ever master you are, unless you have a few crores stacked in the bank to take care of you day to day living.

But my advice for people who are trend followers not to track my calls, since it will distract your calls & entry.

Gautham,

congratulations on stating that you are a top/bottom picker. A lot of people (including me) are likely to question you and pick your mind for this !

Gautam/ Vinay : Both need to read Nicholas Darvas: How I made $2 m. He follows a techno-fundamental method!

Near closing - Play this trade cautiously -

Place an order to Buy @ 5617-14 with stop 5606. Target 5632+ -

can also watch the buying pressure near closing & decide the exit.

Cancel order, since the buy didn't trigger & up target is already met. Though you can still go ahead with the entry, Dont risk a buy if it triggers near closing to carry forward for tomorrow.

Attaching another chart which will give a clearer picture of my analysis from the previous one. Hoping it works. After a long time I am posting a bold projection.

Hoping it comes right. Let's see. I know everybody will be wondering how to use my call. Dont worry, track it for now, if it comes right you can follow me. My calls are generally against the trend, so it will look risky to make an investment based on my call.

I am just trying to dedicate some time to work towards my dream to build a Portfolio mgt co.

Thanks
Gautham Shashangan

Do you still stand by with your projection?
Or changed view?
