You are right. Suppose you are long at any level now u need to go short with double number of lots. and ur SL will be 12 days ema on closing and it should come around 5140 for 5 Jan. There is no specified target, it will be on the basis of rising/falling ema, as the case may be. Please go through my trades for last one year. I had uploaded file which you can download from last page of this thread and go through rules also.

Sell Nifty Future at 5138 on 05/01/2010. If Nifty Future reaches at 5138, place stop loss of 5188. The stop loss is valid for 05/01/2010 only

The above trigger price has been calculated on the basis of 12 EMA on closing price of Nifty Future as on 04.01.2010.

Dear Mr.Hans Raj,

Clarification for 12 EMA calculation.

Jan10 series Nifty future starts trading from 30th Oct09 will end on 28th Jan10. Dec09 series ended on 31st Dec09 (sorry for indicating well known facts). This is base for my query. EMAs are calulated based on historical datas (EOD for daily EMAs).

For EMA calculation for 5th (after on 4th trading), Two kind Historical datas available with you one is Dec09 seris (3 months) & 2nd is Jan10 series (2months & 1 day). Which data to be used.

#1. Use series EOD for corresponding months & change & for 04th Han10 use Jan series.

#2. Use Jan series EOD from 30th Oct09 where starts & calculatee EMAs.

Which is correct?

Never try this for intraday trading. It's a swing and you have to flow with nifty levels.

Hi Hansraj,

I had a question with regard to the Swing trading strategy.

Suppose we are already in a long position. On the next day, there is a gap down which goes through our trigger price for short, which is the 12 EMA. What should be done in that case?

Update to myself on Trade 1 by this strategy

To open Long 5201 on 20091231 (yr-mo-dt)
SL 5157 (double to square and go short)
Target No target in this strategy, we only keep moving the SL for reverse trigger.

Correct me if wrong
