Hello Nitin bhau,
i'm not an frequent trader in Options. Also i'm not aware of macro enabled data fetching tool in excel.
I just want to ask whether this sheet is only for Nov expiry? or it will always fetch data of current month ?

Dear potade. Sorry I was referring to 5400 CE. However, even if I put a hedging position call and put), the result is same, which means that it does not consider time value of option. I think your file will give appx. correct value of profit ONLY on expiry day, that too very close to 3 pm. Please check and confirm.

YES. YOU ARE RIGHTLY UNDERSTOOD. I HAVE ALREADY MENTIONED IT IN MY INSTRUCTIONS OF EXCEL THAT IF YOU HOLD YOUR HEDGE POSITION TILL EXPIRY, IT WILL SHOW PROFIT & LOSS AT A PARTICULAR LEVEL OF NIFTY.
WHAT YOU ARE REFERRING ABOUT CE 5400, IS VALID ONLY FOR INTRADAY WHERE THERE IS NO NEED TO LOOK AT MTM PROFIT ON THE DAY OF EXPIRY AS YOU WILL CLOSE YOUR POSITION ON THE SAME DAY.
IF YOU HOLD YOUR CE 5400 LONG POSITION TILL EXPIRY AND IF NIFTY CLOSES BELOW 5400, THEN THE VALUE OF CE 5400 WILL BE ZERO AND YOU WILL BE LOOSE 47 POINTS SO MY EXCEL CALCULATIONS IS CORRECT WHICH SHOWS PROFIT ONLY ABOVE 5447 IE ( 5400 [STRIKE PRICE] + 47 [PREMIUM] ) ON DAY OF EXPIRY.
SO THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AS FAR AS MTM PROFIT & LOSS CALCULATION AS PER EXCEL FILE.
I DONT PREFER TO TRADE IN HEDGING FOR INTRADAY. |

i will try to write in lowercase. due to my eyesight, i am facing problem to read in lowercase but if it is compulsion then i will write only if it is necessary.

Nitin, lack of response does not mean that ichartians may have ignored your efforts. Take my case. I trade in options but do not hedge or straddle. Also, mine is generally an intraday trade or I carry my position at the most for a few days due to danger of "time value" decaying fast. So I can't use your file. That's all.
I don't think you should be discouraged by the lack of response to your efforts if you really believe that it is useful. Some day, you will find sudden interest from others. |

me too have downloaded ur files but the problem is this i am not able to understand how can i use your levels for trading, may be i dont have much idea about options thats why me and people like me are not able to understand it and therefore not able to respond u as well
it will be great if u can give a basic idea how we should use this levels or if there is any strategy by which we can make use of these levels, i hope u will put some light on to it |

a ) If you are bearish about NIFTY , then check result of hedging strategy like sell 1 lot of PE 5300 @ 75.50 & BUY 2 lots PE of 5200 @ 48.00
b ) If you are bullish about NIFTY, then check result of hedging strategy like sell 1 lot of CE 5400 @ 99.95 & BUY 2 lots of CE 5500 @ 56.25 |
