OHLC Average Breakout Strategy - Longer Continuation Pattern System
I switch to this strategy only if ORB does not give any signal and watch 3rd candle of the day (5 min chart). If it's Open and Close Average is above OHLC average, then buy above the high of 3rd candle and if its Open and Close Average is below OHLC average, then sell below the low of 3rd candle. Trade on 6th Sept. was taken on this system.

Dear sir,
thx for ur value able inputs.
Sir, i have some confusion @Third candle 'If it's Open and Close Average is above OHLC average'
U meant, that we should take a MEAN of O & C { ie. (O+C)/2} and compare it with MEAN of O & C of 10 min period
I will be highly obliged if u can explain trade dated 6sep (if my above understanding is wrong)
Thx as ALWAYS
Amit

Don't take only O & C rather take OHLC that is (OHLC)/4 for Average. Take it of last 5 min candle. If Open and also Close of next candle goes above this average, then buy and if it goes below this average, then sell. I have written a code for all my three strategies in a file which runs in amibroker. All the trades it generates automatically. 6 sept. trade done on this system and even today also 2nd trade done on OHLC Sold Nifty Future at 5132 and covered at 5112. My First ORB Trade Hit SL and 2nd trade of OHLC gave 20 Pts Profit. Already done two trades with no profit no loss. No more trading for the day.
I am also working on mixing up the OHLC with ORB to get better results. |
THX Sirji,
Got ohlc funda. But did not understood 'why ORB SL was hit ? in first trade'
as Sell was triggered @5135 ( rationale: 2 red candle , so C-2 was entry) and then high was 5154 ie. below (5135+20=5155).
Thx |

Dear Sir,
Sorry to once again trouble u.But asking that as it's recent happening.
As per 3-5 strat, B was triggerd @5114-11.25candle.And it achieved tgt of 20 points also.
BUT one thing i observed tht, also on 12.00pm candle, 'probable' set up for Short had formed. But Sell was not triggered .
NOW, my doubt is, if tht short set up had materialised ( ie. L-2 of confirmation candle was broken), SHOULD WE HAD LEFT EARLIER LONG TRADE AND WENT SHORT?
After entering our LONG@11.25 candle, even if such opposite signal by 3-5strat comes (may it b probable or confirmed), what should be our actions in such cases respectively.
OR
should we neglect all signals till we don't get either of TGT & SL?
It will be okay even if u answer it after mkt hours.

Hi Kashidun,
I have been following u r 3 & 5 Ema strategy for intraday for the last 2 days. I find it is producing good results. Also as per this strategy the positional longs which was taken at 4840 is now liquidated and have entered into shorts as yesterday both the Ema's were not touching the candle and today a bearish candle has been formed touching both the ema's. The stop loss for shorts being yesterday's high.Correct me if i am wrong. Kindly clarify as to how do you book profits for positional. Do you book in parts or wait for the bullish reversal.
Thanks for sharing such nice strategy.
Regards

Hi Kashidun,
Can you please explain positional strategy in detail. In particular,What is the time frame of candle to be used ( 60 min? daily?) for positional trade using 3-5 EMA ? Can you expain, going positional long at 4840 as mentioned in your earlier posts? How do you calculate days it will take to get target. You had mentioned 10-4-5-8 earlier. Can you explain in detail.
Thanks for your wonderful posts!! |

Dear Kashidun Sir and Priya,
as per my little knowledge, what i understood is 'we have to find an abandoned candle which is not touching BOTH the EMA's'.
But on thursday, the wick of the candle was touching EMA(3).
So Priya, i did not understood your entry.
Am i correct sir?
thanx as always
