why should I short dollar if, instead, I can invest 10B$ soon? Just busy reallocating my portfolio! |

USD/INR 67.355 +1.044 (1.58%)
SGX Nifty fut 5294.50 +26.50 (0.5%)
Appears as though tomorrow rupee will recover. It's going to be very volatile tomorrow.
Nifty Aug fut today traded 30 million shares in fut volumes. I think highest since Nov 2011 if I am right. It was 24th Nov, a day before expiry we traded between 4600-4750 and it was marked as 2nd highest trading volume day in Nifty's history. (Where can we get this data?). And the next day of expiry brought a 120 point range recovery as short covering from days low.

incase hourly NF 5325-5330 isnt breached, we should be falling and possibly making HnS. |

Apparently LIC was doing the buying. If so, I'd presume yesterdays low will not hold.

dont underestimate the power of lic or dii buying. It's their volatile buying in april 2013, last year may 2012 which kept spot up and induced short covering. |

Good point to remember.
Not underestimating LIC, but their firepower is seriously jeopardized due to repeated govt intervention. They have the lowest asset-liability ratio of just 1.5 in the entire insurance industry and may need govt recapitalization themselves within the next few years !!

HnS? next level after the pattern is up and not down. 5330 on hourly is correct but NS is better.
Today can be a big rise and/or fall but very volatile. |

We could see a sudden crash to new lows if Syria is attacked, possibly today. |

any tension of war has its knee jerk reaction. But if you study market history over last 50 years, except major wars, maket recovers quickly and actually goes up.
Hence best not to carry forward long positions, even if it means having to buy at higher levels if nothing happens. Because attack should normally come at night. |

by the way apka, when you posted 5147 as expiry prediction, was there a typo error? i.e. 5417? |
