this is very normal. 8700ce is close to CMP and hence will go up by lesser % while OTM options by higher %. Also, some are now thinking 9000 is possible in dec and hence the interest. IMHO, doubtful as of now. I too had bought 9000ce in oct but luckily got out in time.

round figure levels like 8000, 8500, 9000 always tend to get more buying interest psychologically. and at the start of the series they are bought more as they are cheaper. same way it will lose premium fast if next week nifty does not cross today's high whatever it is (just an hypothetical example).

Vinay, As per your study where this can go or where one should book longs since big engulfing candle after 2 weeks of consolidation seems unstoppable.

Q2FY15 GDP growth at 5.3% vs 5.7% in Q1, beats estimates.

Economy has grown at 5.3% in the 2nd quarter of the fiscal year as against 5.7% in the 1st 3 quarters. Agriculture sector growth came in at 3.2% against 3.8%, while the pace of growth in manufacturing eased to 0.1% against 3.5% (Q-o-Q).

Had written in Nov starting that nov will not see breach of 8270 spot.. when nifty was near 8330.. and it didn't.

Continuing with same reading, for Dec i think 8450 will not breach and we may see 8700+. Though I'll be cautious and hesitant to long beyond it.
