Bought a good quantity of BankNifty PUTs....but will exit them today itself if the closing is above 5966.....but if it closes below 5966, I'll carry them for another day....

Yes JJM, I'm watching those levels....but since we were trading in a narrow range, I didn't trade much in the last 2 days....above all, I found it difficult to judge the direction of the market due to various (technical and fundamental) factors.....but yes, if I had taken position as per the levels we've discussed, it would have been really good....anyway, let's wait for the next opportunity now... Smile[/quote]

Dear Psalm.

Series is over if you have made +100 pts in first 2 days.. per 2 lots...

Have a great day..

SBIN holding for nt tgt +100..or depends on situation will short

Regards

Good to hear that you're sitting on a sizable profit now, JJM....by the way, for SBIN, I had SHORT position in that counter earlier...but stopped out a few days back.....and now, waiting for levels around 2490-2515 range to initiate fresh ones if the stock reaches there........I very much feel that the stock could test 2500-2520 area....anyway, let's wait and see... Very Happy

food for thought:

[1] Nov-Dec 2011 period bearish. Dec 2011 saw new low on daily and closing basis.

[2] 2nd Jan 2012 breached 4600 and gave closing 4588.... which became the low for the year 2012 and we start a rally upside.

[3] Nov-Dec 2012 period bullish. Dec 2012 saw new high on daily and closing basis.

[4] 2nd Jan 2013 breached 5965 and closing pending....

Can it become high for the year... and start to reverse...considering all tv analysts saying 2013 will see new high. market always does opposite to majority expectation. Smile

apka, first you stop posting frequently and when you do, come in as a spoil sport? 24

You should study a few more years after past leap years.

yes. all time high 13303.

the week we fell from there closed at 12823 and low 12788. We just entered it and trading just below it now. lets see if this zone acts as resistence or gets crossed.

Metal stocks have a bit more steam left, I feel....For example, Tata Steel could test 460-65 that is another 4 or 5% from current levels...Hindalco could test 146-47 (or even 152).....So, metals could still go up....

I don't expect the stock to break above 562-566 range easily in the short-term, Vinay....but in the long term...yes, its possible..... Smile
