600 years back there was a King Henry V of England. His devoted brother John, Duke of York, fought ferociously in Normandy trying to defeat the French and win the territory for England. He (John) is remembered fondly in this nursery rhyme:
[Oh the Noble Duke of York
He had 10,000 men
He marched them up a bloody great hill
And he marched them down again
When they were up, they were up
And when they were down, they were down
And when they were only halfway up
They were neither up nor down
Oh the Noble Duke of York!]

vinay ji..shall i buy puts?

no. SL for longs can be 5425/5405/5375/5360 to your apetite but note that high vix can do anything intraday. I am bullish as of now.

If at all you want to short, SL is 5580 (safe due to vix), too far away.

ok..thq

closing needs to be above 5458 NS to form a piercing candle.

rrk, a tight SL for shorts can be 5480 (or 5515)NS, in case you want to take a chance.

Quote:
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has sounded out lenders on offering forex swap lines at below-market rates for banks raising deposits from non-resident Indians as it considers ways to attract funds to support the battered rupee, several bankers with direct knowledge of the discussion told Reuters.

At a Monday meeting that included RBI Deputy Governor H. R. Khan and executives from foreign banks in India, a proposal was discussed under which the central bank would look into buying back the dollars by providing a forward swap line at a discount for three to five years, they said.

That would reduce the hedging cost for banks to raise dollars overseas and convert them into rupees in India.

"The RBI seems to be looking at offering banks swap lines at below-market rates to mitigate the high cost of hedging right now," said a banker present in the meeting at the RBI.

"They want banks to take dollar deposits and lend them as rupees via a swap. That's expensive right now, so if the RBI offers it cheaply the banks can then pass the savings on as higher deposit rates to attract NRIs," the banker said.

Raghu's speech in which he outlined his immediate action plan and cabinet passing pension bill should be good for market.

NF candle is but not NS. Need to be cautious. I guess another 200 point down coming from 5510/50 before next rally.

hello vinay

i have some banknifty short position

but today SGX numbers showing shaky for shorters like me

as u said stop for shorters NS 5480 to 5515

so with the gap opening today

what should be the strategy

should we go with the SL triggering

or wait for movement in USD price fluctuation

we hope today Dollar should be little up towards inr 68 level

pls give your views

regards
