Vinay the nearest ITM options are:
CMP= 5806
5800 call = 166 = 6 intr + 160 time
5850 put = 188= 44 intr + 144 time

What is your opinion about selling 1 lot each of 5800 call AND 5850 put and eating the time premium? Prakash Holla

not bad but strike prices are too close. 5900pe is nearest better. But what will be your SL levesl?

Risky PK, VIX is again rising, range of nifty is expanding.

Useful only if nIfty remains range bound. But if it moves like last month, definate loss.

Prakash...i have shorted very small qnt...call and put 5900....did the same with 6000 call put few days back and took the premium....guess market would range between 5550-6350 and even till Oct 15-16, selling options can be done......be careful of lower strikes though since market already fallen by 400 points....

Thanks to Amit, Apka and Vinay for suggestions. I will monitor one or 2 such pair sales as dry run and then only go for it after one more cycle of NF finishes. Thanks once again to all 3! Prakash Holla

Today's low was 38.2% retracement. If today's low holds, we may again see 6250+.

55-60 points premium.... it would be difficult to go up with such high premium.

the trend is down but market can do anything and hence keeping a good SL is necessary. it also depends on at what level of nifty you bought puts. If nifty spot closes above 5784, I suggest you may cover your puts for today. but you should be having some experience of options to trade in them.

I bought it at today's opening itself when NS was trading at 5800 levels. It is in profit. Wanted to know if I should keep it for a few days or book profit today itself.

yep, seen your post. spot/fut new low made. new low in bank nifty also.

i am sensing 5550 will come within this week from price action and with VIX crossing 30 again (disclaimer to pointers: I can be 100% wrong 2guns )

apka, crossing today's low wasn't sacrosant in terms of absolute level since fibo retracements are almost always crossed even when it is going to reverse. today's post 3pm fall is mainly due to IT. But today's cad data, what happens in Italy and US, etc. will weigh on markets. I just feel that 5500 may not come immediately i.e. this week unless global markets collapse tonight/tmrw.

then you are making good profit and you must book is my honest opinion. Usual disclaimer holds good.
