I have that problem too...steve...but normally, I dont bet too much if I'm not too sure about it...I always look for risk-rewards.....if the risk is pretty minimal....then I'll bet a lot...I do trade more with stocks....so, I'll give you an example with stocks....At a time, i'll be looking at at least 15 or 20 opportunities....in a day, at least one or two stocks will come to your comfortable range(means stoploss is pretty close)....I'll go for 3 or 4 such trades in a day...out of that even if I get one good trade, I'll make good money...cos, my risk-reward is more than 1:4 most of the time.....overall, my strategy works...I have confidence in that...so, sleeping at night is not a difficult task....but I worry a lot when I've a lot of position without much hedging and some important events are coming.....anyway, most of the time, I make sure that I have some sort of hedging in place....By hedging means having some LONG position when you're Bearish overall....and having some SHORT position when you're Bullish about the market....it is not difficult find 2 or 3 good buying opportunties even when the market is going down....also, its not difficult to find good selling opportunities even when the markets are heading higher..... 5089 and 5071 are the levels to watch on the downside now....5110-5117 range will be immediate resistance range, above that 5143 could be tested....On the downside, below 5071, expect levels of 5059 and 5026 to be tested, which look unlikely today though....

Still have the same view as I have mentioned a few days back, Satish....I had posted it quite a few times in the last few days.... Smile

I'm posting it here for your convenience....as per that, 10340 is the next resistance...today's high is around 10330....

Can anyone give me the view on Bank Nifty?

Taxmann, this is what I have posted on Wednesday regarding the BankNifty....my opinion remains the same.....I'm pasting that message here again:

Hi Sam,

yr views on bank nifty.

vishy

BankNifty has immediate resistance in the range 10560-10590 range, Vishy. If that range is broken then there is chance of it testing 10700 levls above that 10780-10790 could be tested again. On the downside, at 10340, the index has considerable support. The levels to watch on the downside will be 10340 / 10230 / 10175 and then 10050. The area 10050-9900 is the major support for the index.

BankNifty has almost achieved my first target......currently trading around 10350....Very Happy

BankNifty has achieved almost my second target....the low made as of now is around 10237...... Smile

BankNifty has again missed the target by a whisker.....today's low as of now is around 5233....but it shows relative strength of the banks.....even when the Nifty gone below yesterday's low by a big margin, BankNifty hasn't break below yesterday's low convincingly.....but let's wait and see if it provides some cushion for a small recovery....
Smile

BankNifty has found some support around 10175....and bounced back...the low made as of now is around 10179.....but it has immediate resistance around 10230 and 10340 levels....watch out...

Market is trading just below 5160 levels. The high made as of now is around 5157 levels. I expect the range 5161-5177 to give good resistance. If broken, there is chance of it testing 5200-5210 range. I still believe that any upside from here are good selling opportunities. Buying for 50 or 100 point on the upside looks risky to me. Anyway, let's wait and see how the trades pan out today and tomorrow as there is an important event coming up tomorrow (RBI policy meet). Rolling Eyes

Yes, as per the trend line, there is some support around 4900 or so.....and will have to wait and see if those levels will hold if there is some selling....by the way, I'm of the belief that the trendline support may not hold....and we might go down to 4800 and then 4300 levels.....one will have to re-assess the situation around 4350-4300 levels IF we reach there. That's what I feel at this point of time...hmn..let's see where we'll be after 2 or 3 months from here.... Rolling Eyes
