Vinay, I would just call it Index management.

Couple of expiry back we saw INFY rising 80-100 points in last 2 mins before close with volume over 2 lakh shares, to make nifty close above a particular strike.

To achieve a closing above 5300, bulk buying was done. Much of their invested amount they must have covered by buying 5300ce and writing 5300pe.

We also closed at 30min resistence 5315, I feel 5218-5226 belt is coming.

True Apka.I always experience storm like feeling in mind( with multiple combinations and maths) during every expiry. I search answers for questions like is there a way to decode this expiry moves before the event?!

Nrmlly, FNO OI works... It worked with 5500ce 5430-5450 belt being resistence. This time even I was clueless after hitting 5300ce 0.4 the way it did quickly, i just closed my screen not expecting anything further.

On the other hand, in a expiry week if monday-thursday all days have been red and days before it also have been red then the friday after (i.e., today) nrmlly sees buying/green). Sequence didnt complete yesterday.

I feel QE3 will not come today. We will have to wait for german constitution ruling on 'europe rescue fund'on 12th, which in turn will affetc FOMC on 13th.

funny thing is I had placed order to buy 5200pe at 49.40. The data immediately after gdp data shows a low of 49.95 but my trade was hit. Hope it was a correct decision to buy pe. Smile
