Hi Sumesh,
Nice initiative to keep old thread alive.

Can you pl confirm the entry point in this setup
- is it cross of minor high (in case of bullish set up) (like in concor, heromoto chart)
- or is it first bullish candle stick or candle pattern? (as u marked in Yes Bank chart)
Also, pl guide abt Targets- how to calculate?

Regards,
Smart

I'm still evolving as a NVK trader , especially in entry point. Earlier I was considering minor high/low, but as it is a reversal pattern which may again turn against you after some move, waiting for minor pivot may be late entry.
Then I thought of first bullish kind of candle, but many times it hits SL also, especially if broader market is against our trade.
So, at present I'm toying with 5/10/20 ema crossover combination to enter my trade.. so far so good.. Just refer to attached chart of Infy (3 tf) which I just made..For target after booking 50% at 1:1, I book on first major hurdle (with TSL at cost to avoid any further loss).

Still, long way to go.. Smile

Thanx for the prompt reply. I presume, this set up is for intra day play.

Normally trades on 3/5/10 minutes time frames yield desired results in intraday. I prefer to close trades done on 3/5 minute time frames irrespective of my position. This is due to relatively big trade size on smaller time frame and even a small Gapup / down can put you in big loss.

However, NVK trades can be on any time frame. One can vary his trade size based on SL required for different time frames.

regards,

NOTE :
I have made a personal rule about deciding time frames. For me, max. nos. of candles in setup are between 8 and 12. This I have arrived at after doing several nos. of test trades with smallest trade size to understand its efficacy. Anything less or more, I change time frame and if give divergence in this time frame then that's the valid time frame.

Sumesh ji,
Kindly See ICICI Bank Chart
In 15tf- candles in between are less
In 5tf- these are more
In 10 tf, that seems ok.(though divergence is clear in all these tfs)..
.so in this case, i shall follow 10tf chart?

Hi Smart,
As far as candles are concerned , yes, I'm more comfortable with 10tf here (8 candles).

But (+)divergence requires either equal bottoms or second leg closing below first leg with RSI not coming down in second leg. Here, if you see in attached bar chart it shows divergence, but if you see line chart (which is plotted on closing basis) divergence cannot be confirmed as second leg closing is high as compared to first one.
