Well it will be safer to book 25 points may be its too early.
I request Alchemist to post strategy for intra trades as well as another strategy for positional trades for nifty.
(I guess he has more strategies in his pocket)
Cheers,
vlp

Sell when price closes (not just cuts) below 21 EMA from above. Re-enter again when 5 cuts 21 EMA from below provided both are still above 200 EMA.
Vice-versa for selling.
This works best with trending markets so note the DMI before entering trade. If it is less than 25 avoid trading.

Bullish cross 14 Jan 2015 15:30 candle (NS)

50 pts booked 1 lot 15 jan 2015 14:30 candle 8518
2nd lot going on |
Hello PVK,
Not sure why you have taken 15th Jan opening price as the entry point. The entry point is 14th Jan 15:30 candle close when the crossover happened ie at around 8315 NF. If the crossover is happening on the last candle of the day, we should enter just around 3.28 or 3.29 and not wait for the next morning candle. This is to ensure we catch any gap ups.
So the second lot is 500+ points in profit now. In any case, if someone missed entry on 14th, even then second lot is 350+ points in profit.
Trailing SL rule to lock in profits
To lock in profits, use 5/34 EMA bearish crossover to exit the longs. To re-enter, use 5/34 EMA bullish crossover again keeping the recent low as the new TSL. This is provided that 5EMA is above 34 as well as 200 EMA.
Will add more to this strategy as the trade develops in coming days.
Cheers

Hello Alchemist,
We want to make mechanical trading system. Per rule 5 ema cross 200 ema from below in 30 min candle then we go long in next candle.
Hence
Bullish cross 14 Jan 2015 15:30 candle (NS)
Buy 8468 NF 2 lots 15 Jan 2015 as NF opens

5/34 bearish crossover at 8837 nifty spot so longs exited, staying sidelines now until 5/34 bullish crossover OR 5/200 bearish crossover, whichever comes first.
Cheers

Nifty continues its downward journey after 5/34 crossover however got stalled today during to some short covering in light of the RBI meeting tomorrow I guess where another rate cut is expected. In the end, nifty spot got resisted at 34 EMA and 5/34 bullish crossover didnt happen.
Nifty traded in a small range today so a contraction day after an expansion day. Tomorrow we might be an expansion day based on what Mr Rajan do in the RBI meet ...
tighten your seatbelts ...overall trend is up so shorting is for bold traders only.
Cheers

Alchemist bhai
I am unable to understand how 5/34 crossover can be exit points in this 5 min chart (I had myself suggested 5/21 in an earlier post on this thread) but a closer look tells me that if we strictly follow the rules i.e., exit if candle closes beyond 34 EMA (from below or above as the case may be) then there will be only losses.
