1. 30 min spot charts to follow.
2. plot 5-34-200 period EMA charts.
3. enter on the basis of crossover of 5/200
4. sq off 50 % for a profit of 70/140 points
5 remaining to continue till reverse signal
6. make positions neutral if crossover takes place on 5/34. reenter if crossover takes place in reverse direction.

Over and above these :

1.) Enter on break of high/low of 5/200 candle
2.)Alchemist hedges his positions by SELLING puts/calls on RSI divergence .

Adding one more trade scenario

Lets assume we are on yorker shorts ...

... if 5/34 crossover bullish crossover happens and position is 'neutralised' ...

....and if price retests 200 EMA again....wait for price to fall below 200 EMA again (candle close below 200 EMA after retest) and open fresh shorts at this candle's low break even if 5/34 bearish cross has not happened. SL will be the recent highs made when 200 EMA retest happened.

For example :

Example 1 : check Nifty spot charts of 13th March... spot opened above 200 EMA to retest 200 EMA however 10 AM candle closed below 200 EMA making a low of 8791. Shorts to open at 8790 with SL recent high of 8846. These shorts are opened without waiting for 5/34 bearish cross (Trade led to Huge profits)

Example 2 : check Nifty spot charts of 19th March... spot moved above 200 EMA to retest 200 EMA however 11 AM candle closed below 200 EMA making a low of 8742. Shorts to open at 8742 with SL recent high of 8787. These shorts are opened without waiting for 5/34 bearish cross. (Trade led to Huge profits)

Example 3: check Nifty spot charts of 23rd Feb... spot moved below 200 EMA to retest 200 EMA however 24th Feb 11 AM candle closed above 200 EMA making a high of 8776. Longs to open at 8777 with SL recent lows of 8737. These longs are opened without waiting for 5/34 bullish cross. (Trade hit 40 point SL)

Cheers

Yes, as we are using 200ema as our biggest ema (out of 5,34 and 200), it is better you load the data for last 200 days.
I also had this problem in proper crossover, then I increased the no of days, and now it is coming fine.

Alchemist may be better person to guide on this. But what I understood from various discussion with Alc is that if bigger tf, say eod is in downtrend, generally it is expected that price *may* rebound from overbought area and vice versa.

So , if we have a bullish crossover (with RSI overbought) and daily chart is in downtrend, I feel we can take long but half the regular qty. But if daily is in uptrend, and bullish crossover happens (with RSI overbought), we can take long with full qty .

Hello Alchemist/Sumesh,

I could not enter into the trade in today's 5/34 bullish crossover. Would you recommend to enter tomorrow morning?

Thanks,
Snehil

You were NOT supposed to enter in this 5/34 bullish crossover as we are still bearish (due to 5/200 down crossover). So, those who were short could have closed their positions at this 5/34 crossover.

In fact short can be taken if you get 5/34 DOWN crossover, as long as 5/200 is bearish.

Long is only when you get bullish crossover of 5/200.
